When we arrived, we were approached immediately and seated. We did not get a menu but didn't think anything of it, as there was a QR code on the table. But then the tables around us that were seated later all got a menu handed right after sitting down. Unfortunately, it took quiet sometime until a server came to the table to take our order, but it was busy so we understood. And he was friendly and made us laugh. Our starter ( bruschetta ) came out after about 15 -20 min, which took longer than expected but again, it was busy, so we understood. Our 4 espresso martinis however, took 30 min, which was a bit long. And then we waited almost one and a half hour for our pizzas. The tables around us started to clear, so we started to wonder. Our server did not once step by to ask if everything's alright or to tell us how much longer it will take. Then he brought a pizza to the table next to us ( they arrived way later). He looked at us with a smirk and we thought he was joking and he will bring over the pizza to us ( it was one that we ordered as well) but no. We got really confused as we already waited longer than them. He noticed but did not say anything to us. We then stopped him to ask for a reason and he told us that it's because it is their starter and they only got one pizza und before that there was a huge order of 8 pizzas. No apology whatsoever he got quiet defensive and also a bit irritated because of us asking. Also the explanation is leaking sense. Either you are prioritising small orders or you make them them in the order they are taken. We also needed to ask for an estimated time on how much longer it takes. When the food arrived also no apology and we felt he was avoiding our table since we asked. My pizza (4 cheese) was missing the walnuts (not mentioned by the server) and I also never received the side salad I ordered. When he cleared the table he did not asked if everything's was alright. The side salad was listed on the check and when I asked to have it removed, he said he needed to check if that's possible. I never received it so yes it is possible and once again no apology. We got the corrected check handed without a word. We felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Not the experience we were expecting and all could have been avoided with saying sorry and making an effort to get our food out. But he did not seem to care but rather...
Read moreWe stayed in Malta 7 days, my husband and I, his cousin and her husband. And all 7 days we visited the place for delicious food, drinks and during the day junping to the water just beside the restaurant - there is a private entrance beside the restaurant tables that allow access to the guest eating at place. During day time, we 4 were with swimmin wear getting in-and-off from the water while ordering food and drinks, and we didn't have any problem. However, the horrible experience came when just my husband and I came to the place in our last day (we are a gay couple) and we ordered one beer to start the day (it was around 11 am) we would stay there several hours as we did on prior days. However, for our surprise, when my husband decided to go to the water on swimming wear, a waiter really rude came to him saying he coudn't do it, that this was a restaurant and he was not allowed to do. We explained that we did this for 6 days in a row, and he was agressive saying "and I work here for 11 years and I saw you can't". Before he came, we were holding hands, being affective to each other, and this posture from him felt personal, if you know what I mean... I pointed to a group of elderly guest that were just a few meters from us exactly on swimming clothes and doing what we were going to do and asked why they could do it and we couldn't. He said "they are members here". We then decided to leave the place in fury, and as we had just our cards/phones and had order a beer, the minimum was 10 euro to pay by card and humiliated I even had to order another beer as "take away" to cover the gap to the 10 euros. This situation happened on August 7th and out of the 7 days we stayed at the place, this was the only person who treated us that way - the other days the service was excellent and we always left tips to the waiters. The fact it just me and my husband at the time - and not his cousin with her husband, a straight couple, as the other days - and the presence of this rude waiter destroyed our...
Read moreWorst customer service on the island! I went last night there with two friends who were visiting from back home and another friend with whom we usually come here. So the place is bulgarian, we are Bulgarian and we were only women. We come here often. We usually leave tips and not small ones, apart from the last time, when we were put next to the toilet, when there were perfectly good tables available, the waiter mixed up our order and forgot my friends drink, so she had to ask twice for it.... at the end, when paying by card, the person who claims to be the restaurant manager asked if we are going to leave tip, we didn’t, since I didn’t appreciate the way we were treated, little would I know on how far they could go.... Last night my friend arrived first, ordered a drink and asked for an ashtray. When we arrived her drink came, the ashtray didn’t, she lit a cigarette and the same guy, who we didn’t tip last time cam shouting at her. I have personally never been treated like that anywhere. He was abusive and mean. When we asked to speak to the manager, he said it’s him, did not want to say his name and since the whole place is Bulgarian, he definitely decided he can treat us like that because we are women and because we are Bulgarian. I know we were not right as well for lighting a cigarette with no ashtray, but he could have told us that in a normal way, not ruining our night shouting and screaming abusively no less. All the drama for not leaving tip previous time, considering the time before that we left them over £20. And if that guy who introduces himself as Alfonso is so brave to shout at women, I don’t know why he doesn’t have the balls to give us his name! We naturally left the place, my friend could not even have a sip of her drink and we were made to pay for it, which is small potatoes in comparison to the rest. Avoid...
