We tried Two Buoys for lunch today, I'm originally from Australia so I was interested in trying out this restaurant in Malta. The food was really delicious, I had the Aussie Burger with sweet potato chips, my partner had the chicken parma, both were really delicious, huge portions! I was asked by our waitress how I would like my burger cooked which was a refreshing change here in Malta, as I like my meat rare. Our waitress was absolutely charming, friendly and efficient. The other waiter was very nice as well. The setting, overlooking the bay, is lovely. The only recommendation that I could make to the owners is that they should re-think the decor and that the wait staff should wear at least the same colour, if not a shirt for example that has the Two Buoys logo or name printed on it. The male waiter in jeans and t-shirt doesn't really cut it in these days. A uniform or at least the same colour would make the staff look smarter, even if this is a casual dining restaurant. The decor is looking decidedly tired, we entered from the street side, where the lift is located, the main inside area of the restaurant was dark, no lights on and there were boxes of vegetables on one of the tables. From the previous photos you can see that it used to look much better, now there seems to be fake grass as a decoration, some very tired looking plants on the right hand side of the terrace, etc. Basically it all looks a bit unloved and not very cohesive, it seemed to look much more polished in the past. As I myself work as a waiter in a restaurant here in Malta, I hope that my comments are useful to the management of Two Buoys. I reiterate that we had a lovely delicious lunch and the staff were excellent. If you wanted me to advise you on any changes you wanted to make in the future, I would be most happy to do so, just...

We went in here having liked the look of the place from across Spinola Bay, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and look of the place inside. The waiting staff found us a nice table and were friendly and helpful with the menu choices. Unfortunately the service was a little slow although there weren't a lot of people in the place but that may be that they were understaffed. The Bigilla with bread was excellent, my wife's Chicken Supreme was fantastic, as was my Osso Bucco on our first visit. On our second visit I decided to have fish and was recommended the Red Snapper. Once cooked, this was brought to the table for me to inspect on a cold(!) steel platter and I was asked if I wanted it stripped from the bone or would I do it myself. I asked for them to do it and it came back 5 minutes later and - heresy of heresies - it was served on a cold china plate! Restaurants, please note - NEVER NEVER NEVER a cold plate for a hot meal, especially fish, which loses heat so quickly. My fish was very nice and tasty but was tepid when it reached me and cold within the 5 (rushed) minutes I took to eat it. What a shame about this and the slowness of service, which took the shine off an otherwise superb night out in what would be a fine restaurant with a few bits of...

Went based on reviews, worst food we had in a long time, anywhere in the world. Staff were really nice and attentive and the location is amazing, lovely view of the bay. As you can see (first review) I’m not a serial complainer but thought it best the restaurant knew about our experience, with the food. The food is very beige, I had the giros which I love normally and added chicken which made it a €19 wrap. It had no taste at all and the chicken I’m sure was from frozen and then microwaved, it was coated in breadcrumbs never had that on any giros??? The reason I suspect it was microwaved is it had a rubbery texture. This should not be called giros at all as it’s not giros. When I go for a meal I expect the food to be as good or better than what I cook at home as this is someone’s profession, they are supposed to be a professional at cooking. This fell way short, all I ask is that the staff try the giros and be honest with the chef and management. My wife’s food was also terrible but she will review separately. We did not set out to complain but it was our last night so really disappointed, did not complain in person as just wanted to leave. Had to wrap up the food and throw it...

We went to Two Buoys for brunch and had a great experience. We arrived later than planned after being stuck in traffic, so it was a relief to find out they serve brunch until 4pm. That already felt like a win. As soon as we walked in, we were seated at a table with a really nice view. The service stood out right away – the gentleman looking after us was very attentive without being over the top. The moment I glanced up ready to order, he was already at the table. Our drinks came out within a couple of minutes, and the food followed soon after. I don’t think I’ve ever had service that quick in a restaurant. The food itself was excellent. The portions were generous, everything was presented well, and most importantly, it tasted great. Between the quick service, good food, and relaxed setting, it was exactly what we were hoping for. I’d definitely recommend Two Buoys if you’re looking for a brunch spot in Malta – it ticked all the boxes for us.

The atmosphere was amazing. By far my favorite place in Malta. After discovering it, we went there everyday for breakfast. I would totally recommend this place to a friend. The savory options are exceptional! We tried the scrambled, poached and fried eggs (eassedon eggs with bacon and halumi) and they were all amazing. I found the halumi to be a bit salty to my taste, but the bacon was baked to perfection. Just the right amount of crunchiness. To die for. Unfortunately I was not impressed with the acai bowl. The açaí was still frozen when served (it was impossible to eat it, I had to wait for it to come to a decent temperature). The peanut butter was missing (although listed in the ingredients list in the menu) and the muesli seemed to be plain oats. Cocktails were also very good.

Popped in for a quick light lunch ! Lovely warm greeting, interesting menu, few twists on some regular meals and drinks which made a great change ! I wanted to try their gnocchi, 2 types on offer, but I was still so full from the previous day, I opted for the fish tacos & so pleased I did, more than enough. They were presented well & tasted very good. We also ordered the Caroline scrambled eggs with feta, chorizo, crispy onion and chilli on toast. Have to say, wasn't taken with the presentation, but wow did it taste good. Really nice. So much I'd like to try from this menu, sadly I'm not here long enough to work my way through. Would I return, absolutely !! Highly recommended & well done for giving us something a little different to tickle the taste buds.
