Chateau Buskett — Restaurant in Siġġiewi

The location in a wooded area just outside Verdala Palace is wonderful. What a pity that the outdoor plateau where wedding receptions are held had been transformed into a hollow pit hemmed in with palisades on all sides with no circulation of air. We were sweating even at 9pm in a 30°C September day. But what was worse was the hygiene. I was of the first to arrive at the venue, at 5pm. I asked the staff to use a toilet upstairs and was told the men's toilets available for our use were downstairs. I went downstairs and the place reeked of urine even before the bar opened. No soap or sanitizer was available anywhere. I complained to the official wedding organizer and eventually a sanitizer was placed on a table outside the toilet area with what seemed to be a defective pump. I opened the pump mechanism and discovered it had been designed this way with no groove for air intake. Hence a sanitizer bottle which is there for show with a fake pump to make it impossible to use. I understand that caterers are trying to wean us off the obsessive compulsive use of sanitisers, and that is precisely why during an ongoing pandemic in a finger food reception, spotless hygiene is a must and dirty toilets with no soap is the worst disservice one could do to the wedding couple and...

A nice secluded venue, ideal for any type of occasion. On entering from the main eentramce, patrons are greeted by a terraced open air woodland. The terraced sections are usually custom fitted as bars, food stands, sitting areas and the likes for what would be mostly appropriate for any given occasion.

A beautiful venue especially at night. It spans two open areas one overlooking the other. It also has an indoor area which is usually used during the winter months. The Chateau is situated in a woodland area and is thus surrounded by trees some of which are a couple of centuries old. Lighting and decorations make the venue even more special. The catering is splendid... The food is of a very good quality. They also have people employed to continuously pick up trash during the event... But they do it in such a way that the guests barely notice. Parking is not a problem as the roads around the venue can be used...
