I'm so delighted I got a reservation here today. The food is amazing! I loved the way there's a help yourself approach to drinks in the fridge and the food is served on a big table so you also grab yourself a bowl or a plate buffet style. The chef in this place is OUTSTANDING!! She creates so many fresh flavours. To start there were veggie samosa and deep fried lentil balls with chilli sauce and a tomato coriander sauce. So tasty, great textures and the chilli sauce tingled my tongue- I ate loads of the sauce 😁 Then we had the best lentil soup that's every been created in the whole world. I could live off it for the rest of my life! Curry leaves and veg and subtle spices. Honestly, it was heavenly! And it was silky on the palate 💓 Then we were served rice, chicken curry, jackfruit, coconut chutney, another kind of chutney maybe with cabbage in it and a huge smoked fish and prawn salad. So fresh and fragrant and juicy and tasty. This food is unbelievable. To blow out minds we were given pineapple and coconut ice-cream to finish. So so so so creamy and delicious. I love that the chef also came out and served us and told us about the food and checked in with us because that was a really personal touch and she's so skilled, I was happy to tell her how much I enjoyed everything. We looked for authentic creole cuisine while in Mauritius and Creole Shack came up as the best option. The chef and owner gladly accommodated us even though she was closing early that day.

It was such an amazing concept of experiencing authentic Mauritian culture and flavours. The starters were freshly and were perfectly crispy, the mains were out of this world with a flavour burst in every bite. I opted for the fish curry and my hubby the chicken curry. Both were presented beautifully and were full of flavour. The cherry on top was the rich and creamy homemade papaya, coconut and passion fruit ice cream. I am personally not a fan of papaya but was pleasantly surprised at how well it complimented the other fruit flavours.

The restaurant has a relaxed and feel-good vibe as if you are having lunch at a relative’s house. The staff are so friendly and the owner took the time to explain the dishes to us.
