We had been invited to this Golden HongKong restaurant, on Ave des Flamboyants, Roche Brune, by families that we had not met for years. It was indeed a memorable evening dinner, including all the dishes that was ordered, including Sow mai, Niouk nien, Moon Kiow, Moy Choy etc. All these are typical local Chinese dishes. While the various menus did not score high marks, they were OK. What threw me off totally is the state of the entire restaurant. Highly recommended not to use the washrooms or use at your own risk. There was no toilet paper in both the ladies and the gents. The bathroom floors are sticky, as you can hear each of your footsteps, not when they touch the ground, but when being lifted. The dinner area looks dull as if all the light is absorbed by a thin film of grease covering all the tables and floor. The lazy susan on our table did not turn freely, and it takes some effort to make it rotate. The entire restaurant needs a total makeover, from top to bottom. If not in the plan, then the very least is an intense spic and span program. I mean intense. I was not expecting great service, and there was none. So, I was not disappointed. There were lots of parking opposite the restaurant in an open field, but no sign to indicate that. Do not dare visit...
Read moreMy relatives and I recently dined there, and we tried a variety of dishes including fried noodles, fried meefoon, siou kiaow, bol renverser, crispy calamari, and maize soup.
Fried Noodles and Fried Meefoon: Both dishes were good. The portions were generous, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. These two dishes are I recommend if you're visiting.
Crispy Calamari: The crispy calamari was delicious with a satisfying crunch. However, the portion size was a bit disappointing. We had to order two servings for our group of four.
Siou Kiaow: The siou kiaow was flavorful, though a bit pricey at Rs400 for 10 pieces. Despite the cost, the taste made up for it.
Bol Renverser: This dish was underwhelming. It lacked the flavor and excitement we were expecting.
Maize Soup: The maize soup was a highlight. It was very tasty, and the portion size was impressive. Recommended.
Additionally, the waitress who served us was very friendly, which made our dining experience pleasant. I might return to try their dim sums next time.
Overall, the restaurant offers a mixed experience, with some standout dishes and a few that could use improvement. It's worth a visit for the fried noodles, fried meefoon,...
Read moreWe went to the Restaurant today, Tuesday 27/02/24, for lunch Food: Poulet Croustillant- 3/5 Mine Frite- 1.5/5 Riz Frite- 1.5/5 Chop suey- 2/5
Highly disappointed with the Mine and Riz Frite. They were almost Bland. No flavor, taste and Texture at all. The rice must have been the lowest quality they bought on the market and the vegetables were rubbery. Might only look good on picture but the tastes were mediocre.
Service A 💯 poor Service. Inattentive, unfriendly, rude and unhelpful servers. We had to wait long for a request of additional tomato sauce. We almost got it at the end of our lunch. Communication is not their forte, unfortunately. Our money to pay, yet they can't treat their customers appropriately.
Hygiene Tables and utensils were dirty. The plates in which we already ate, were not taken away. We had to eat all the food we ordered in the same plate till the end of our lunch. The table clothes were nasty and the atmosphere was dull.
What we have observed, if you are a frequent customer, a better service will be entertained.
The restaurant cannot be recommended to anyone at anytime if you are a new customer. Better roti ou...
