The restaurant environment is clean and the tables are set with tablecloths. The service is average for a five-star hotel. However, form clearly wins over substance in this restaurant. The food looks tempting but has no taste at all. You'll definitely leave thinking that the best they have is the pastries.
Their starter of the evening was below average and provided absolutely no taste experience. Yet, this is where the chef should show off how he can cook. So, I would rate it 1 out of 5.
Here are my ratings for the appetizers from the menu:
Crustacean Bisque: The lagoon seafood and garlic croûtons were good, but the bisque itself was mediocre and deserved to be seasoned. So, I would rate it 3 out of 5. Asparagus Vichyssoise: The green asparagus royal and pecorino crumble were good, but the truffle espuma was completely missed. The pecorino crumble was probably the creamy stuff in the middle, which is far from a crumble. So, I would rate it 2 out of 5.
Here's my rating for the main course from the menu:
Red Drum: The fish was juicy but tasteless and not salty enough. There was a green mass in the middle of the roll that tasted unidentifiable to something like a sweetish green jelly. It didn't taste like wakame seaweed though. The side dish was supposed to be yam purée, which I know was more of an orange color and not this faded gray. Taste-wise, it was something. The vanilla-ginger sauce should have been distinctive but again tasteless. Overall, the dish was tasteless, unsalted, and well below average. So, I would rate it 2 out of 5."
Swordfish dish, the squid ink risotto, broccolini, and crustacean reduction were good, but the fish was over salted. The risotto wasn't creamy at all, but rather a mound of black rice. So, I would rate it 3 out of 5.
Here are my ratings for the desserts: Valrhona: The dark chocolate sphere, pistachio mousseline, raspberry, and vanilla ice cream were good. It was probably the best dish after the pastries in the restaurant that day. So, I would rate it 4 out of 5. Strawberry: The hazelnut speculoos, caramel crème brûlée ice cream, and strawberry-basil ice cream were good. However, the worst thing about this dessert was that a disgusting vegetable fat mixture was used instead of whipped cream. So, I would rate...
Read moreVery very incompetent service. We have been here for 2 lunches now as staying at the resort. Staff are disengaged, wrong items have been served at each meal and the staff don’t bother coming to ask even once if everything is ok. Today I had to ask for one item 3 times (once at the time of ordering and twice after) and the staff couldn’t care less and it never arrived. This is a 2 star service place. The manager should be sacked together with the team at of the staff. I am amazed at their incompetence. Even when I tried telling the waiter (Kyle) that service was terrible the answer was ok. No further questions were asked as if they don’t care....
