Disappointing Experience at Grillicious Mahébourg on 01.03.2025 during dinner
Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had anticipated, and I believe it's important to bring it to your attention.
First and foremost, my husband and i were there commanding 1 mine frite agneau to split into 2 plates but the issue was while commanding 1 mine frite Agneau the order taker stated they ran out of lamb, we ordered 1 SPECIAL mine frite poulet instead upon the request of the order taker. Order placed at 10h13pm and received nearly 11h00pm... long wait times, poor service. We were seated promptly, but the problem was that a family came after us commanding following after a gent police officer, i would say as slow service, inattentive staff, mistakes with the order because we were waiting and waiting and the family got their order, the gent police officer got his order before us who all came after us, when my husband went to speak with the order taker who is arrogant, stupidly yelling saying our order was next. Com'on dude, tell me how the others after us got their orders before us??? I must say that your order taker with big lips is very inattentive to details, even when i went to speak to him, to have an explanation why he was doing this, burning us out, he stupidly said the family called before arriving there...but i had heard the actual order was done there how can you say they called?? I must say it was an excuse. When i asked him why the police officer got his order before us also, he had no explanation. I told him you must follow your orders numerically (twice he made this mistake when visited there, first time i let it go but this time it was enough).
Despite bringing it to the attention of the staff - order take (big lip guy) he did not even bother to apologize. Instead of pleasing clients hypocritically try learning some skills and customer service. He thought he can showcase who should have their first and who not, com'on dude do it in your country. Felt disgusted by his arrogant attitude. You are in Mauritius (pas vine faire mari dans maurice).
Additionally, the food quality, it was an issueâ the shrimps were small, some overcooked, some undercooked, it was not big shrimps instead tiny tiny. We were disappointed by the special mine frite as they did not meet the standards we expected from a restaurant of your reputation - it was recommended but a great failure experience twice.
Lastly, the cleanliness of the restaurant, uncomfortable seating, poor atmosphere, too much lightning, too much smoke feeling of stiffness... All of this left us feeling frustrated, disappointed, dissatisfied.
I hope you understand that we did not expect this level of service or quality, given the positive reviews and reputation your restaurant has. We truly want to see Grillicious succeed, but based on this experience, I am uncertain if I would return or recommend it to others.
