Kapok Green Bistro Coffee — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

I keep coming back to this place for the atmosphere; finding a spot with so much greenery in the middle of one of the busiest areas of the city is amazing. Unfortunately, the food and service are inconsistent and the food is definitely overpriced. I just have to remember not to come when I'm hungry, and just come for the coffee or something simple. But, I'll probably try one or two more menu items in the hopes of finding something better. Normally people like to linger over their food and drink, enjoying the company of their companions but sometimes the servers here make you feel that you should leave even though there are no other customers and they are still open for several more hours. We really enjoyed the place. It may be located near big busy streets, once you enter you forget this. Nice, shaded, many plants and trees, nice pond with fish. We were there just before 3pm so the menu was still the breakfast menu. I like that the menu does not have to many options, which reassures and makes you think that they use fresh products. We had the salmon bagel and the chicken curry bagel and both were delicious! The bagel is homemade and not to dense as some bagels often are. Really enjoyed it. Our daughter could play in the children's area while we were eating. Service was very good, hope it stays this way. Really beautiful place and nice staff but the food is mediocre at best. Ordered chilaquiles and received chips with barely any sauce and the sauce it did have was flavorless. I had to ask for more salsa and salt. I also had to ask for the side of beans it was supposed to come with. Also ordered their version of French toast that said came with their house jam. The toast was fine but the jam was just a couple of smears on the plate. I had to ask for some syrup because otherwise it was just bread with egg and butter. The staff were polite and did their best to accommodate but I won’t be eating food here again. The drinks were good and like I said, the place is beautiful so I’ll come back...
