I was told that I had to try their chilaquiles(I'm a chilaquiles addict) I drove out there in the afternoon so I figured I would try the enchiladas suizas instead. My companion ordered the beef soup. The enchiladas were so so. There was very little flavor in the sauce. The beef soup was terrible. It's one of those soups that needs to cook for hours...and really concentrate and develop the flavors as well as tenderize the tough cuts of meat. This broth was reminiscent of dirty dish water...completely devoid of flavor and the meat was tough. She left 90% of it in the bowl. I am an eternal optimist(to a fault)... so I came out today(yes, one day later lol) because I had to try their chilaquiles. Let me tell you...night and day difference. Flavorful sauces, fresh fried tortilla strips, the chicken was grilled (which was a welcome change over the standard boiled chicken breast). My companions plate was huge, diverse, and very tasty. The service was pleasant and efficient. My suggestion is to go for breakfast as...

I found a dirty toe nail with black hair twisted around it between the layers of the chilaquiles I ordered🤮 Living in El Centenario this had been my favorite breakfast place despite being over charged on several occasions. Most gringos in Mexico are used to that but this is just disgusting.

Luckily La Toscana across the street started serving breakfast and it’s amazing. A little more expensive but they charge the price set...

This is an amazing local restaurant, delicious food. Our favorite is bone beef soup and empanadas. Don’t forget to try the natural fruit juices! Bomba and green one with pineapple and spinach! Prices are reasonable, not crazy, not touristic, hope they keep their authenticity like this always!
