Barbacoa "El Oeste" — Restaurant in Baja California

We stumbled on this Borrego taco spot by chance, and it turned into one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in Tijuana. We didn’t have any cash on us, and someone outside said they take credit cards, so we walked in. When we found out they actually don’t, we started to leave—but then the owner stopped us and said, “No se preocupen. Eat now, pay later.”

The setting is rustic and beautiful—simple, open-air, full of character. It feels like you’re eating in someone’s backyard, in the best possible way. The barbacoa was incredible: rich, tender, and deeply flavorful. The service was just as special—genuine, warm, and welcoming.

No es un lugar que recomendaría, sin embargo la ultima palabra la deben de tener ustedes al visitar el lugar, por lo que solo platicare mi experiencia. La barbacoa no es mala ni expectacular pero la falta de atención en cualquier otro elemento te puede llevar a tener una muy mala experiencia, en mi caso fue la tortilla. La tortilla es echa a mano en el lugar pero no prestaron atención en la mezcla de la cal la cual no me dejo disfrutar la comida, la primer tanda temo un sabor amargo, al pedir cambiaran las tortillas y al hacer la observación muy amablemente me las cambiaron pero solo añadieron sal a la masa ya que seguía teniendo un pésimo saber pero ahora condimentado con sal. Eso a mi parecer arruinó mi visita, otra cosa que no recomendaría pedir son los tuetanos por que de tuétano no tenia Nada.
