Kotori - Plaza San Pedro — Restaurant in Baja California

Opening:

Only two customers were in the restaurant when I arrived. But, it looks like 6 others just left. Shortly after I got here, 5 more arrived. And then, two more after that. At the end, around 16:46 on this Saturday afternoon, there were 4 in line waiting for their Uber Eats pickups.

Ordering:

I ordered an iced tea (came with no ice, which is fine). After about two minutes, the guy came back asking me if I was ready to order. I asked if they could make the gyozas "Al vapor" and he flatly said no. So i said to give it to me, any way. I ordered the prok ramen soup as well, he told me it was big, and I said ok. Lastly, I ordered the fire noodles with no rice on the side.

The food:

Fried gyozas - Though not the way I enjoy them, these were perfectly cooked and didn't skimp on the ingredients. The side jalapenos they make in soy sauce compliment them perfectly.

Spicy ramen pork noodles - A quick review shows the eggs were boiled first (and overcooke) and then dropped in. The ramen noodles are also from the package you buy for cheap at Walmart or anywhere. Insofar as the taste, it's bland. But, for a little over $6 USD, I guess I can't blame you. At least the prok, itself, is decently portioned and tastes ok. This dish is saved, again, by the side jalapenos in soy sauce but also with a (heavy) touch of Sriracha.

Fire noodles - This is a "slow burn" noodle. It's excellent and the best dish from what I ordered.

Service:

The lone waiter doesn't come back unless you ask him. I'm okay being left alone but he's a bit extreme. My drink's also been empty for 30+ min and he also didn't even notice/care.

Final assessment:

Come here if you're in the mall area and you don't want to go to Chiang's nearby. Whatever you do, definitely don't go to Tabu. This...

Estoy yendo a comer en esta sucursal desde el 2019, por qué daban buen servicio y el ambiente era agradable... Solo que no sé si será por cuestiones administrativas que les falta eso que llegaron a tener antes de la pandemia. En cuestión del servicio no son 5 estrellas por qué el personal no es atento a los detalles o se les olvida lo que les pediste y a veces tardan en regresar y preguntarte si necesitas algo, y les recuerda lo que ya les pediste y aún así lo siguen olvidando, ¡aunque solo hay tres mesas ocupadas en el momento! El ambiente es muy bueno, agradable, y se nota que se refuerzan por la limpieza y el a/c, ya que en mi última visita note reparaciones y mantenimientos que no tenían en la previa. Lo malo, la comida... Siendo que esto debería ser lo mejor!!! Aqui fue donde probé por primera vez el caldo pho, algo muy singular en sabor y que me encantaba, y que a comparación de las otras sucursales en la ciudad, creo que era donde mejor lo hacían, pero en mi última visita, en el pho de pollo, solo tenía tres pequeños trozos de pollo de menos de 2 cm, y eso si le resta mucho a la experiencia del caldo. No he de negar que los aperitivos son excelentes y los rollos son muy buenos, pero de que sirve que hayan cambiado la carta y sigan ofreciendo platillos diversos, si no hacen bien los que en teoría no les piden mucho, algo clásico en respecto a un lugar que su fama es por...

Came in 30 min aftet they opened Food and Administration services came in shortly after to inspect the place! We had already ordered and food took about 35 to 40 min I asked for them to charge me for appetizer and waters but they never came back. Rest of food came out way later and it was DISGUSTING no flavor and tasted stale and old !! What a waste of 45 dollars never ever EVER COMING...
