EDIT: The owner reached out and has offered to correct the situation which I greatly appreciate. Ana if you are reading this I do not want to deny your business the money or the server his tip as he was courteous and attentive up until the point of payment. I am not sure what possibly was said that was understood to be rounding up. Assuming the total price of the two drinks based on the menu prices, I figured a $5 USD tip was sufficient. And stated " y cinco dollares por la propina" when paying and he even double checked with me that I said cinco. I thought it was a pretty straight forward statement and my Spanish was good enough to say it. I appreciate your offer to refund the money, but I want the businesses in the Valle to continue to prosper, and I don't want a refund for the drinks. I only left the review because I didn't like what seemed to me as a dishonest transaction. But we did consume the drinks, and we were provided service which deserves to be...
Read moreKous Kous was one of my favorite restaurants in Hillcrest/San Diego for the last 8+ years. When I heard it moved to the Valle, I couldn't wait to drive down and try it. As soon as I walked in chef Moumen recognized me and welcomed my group with open arms! The ambiance was so beautiful with authentic Moroccan decor and a view that took your breath away.
The food was OUTSTANDING! We got the lemon chicken tagine (so juicy and tender!) and the honey lamb tagine (one of the best things I've ever tasted!!). I also loved all the sides including the kous kous and the spinach as my absolute favs!

We left our meal fully satisfied with the desire to bring all of our family and friends back down! It's such an amazing experience with the ambiance, the food and...
Read moreStopped in for the first time yesterday since they're now open 7 days a week. What a treat. Everything was spectacular. The view of the Valle was one of the nicest I've seen. The food was so flavorful and fresh. The staff was very accommodating (we went with our 5 month old baby). The attention to detail and decor was really something else. I very much enjoyed talking to the owner as well, you can tell he takes a lot of pride in using a very hands on approach to run his business. I'd like to go back and see everything lit up at night time and have a few drinks. Their wine and gin selection seemed excellent, but we only had kombucha and Morroccan mint tea since we were with our child and had to drive back
Such a welcome addition to the culinary scene...
