Restaurante Casa del Camino — Restaurant in Baja California

I cannot fathom why this place is rated so high. The food was three star at best and the service was worse than what you would expect. You would be best to drive somewhere else so that this doesn't happen to you.

They were so severely short staffed that the two people they had working were literally running in circles a few times due to confusion. They severely shortened their menu due to their staffing shortages to just three items, we assumed to make service faster.... it wasn't even close. We received our food in waves after an hour of waiting and then started receiving our drinks after that.

The facilities looked great and I could see this place being popular, but today could not have been further from that...

We had pozole and menudo, both where delicious and the flavors where well pronounced exactly as both dishes should be. We also had taco de Borrego, the meat was done to perfection, I could eat this straight all day long. The cocktails where very good, especially the meszalino. This is a new place in the valley, very beautiful 1 bedroom cabins are being put in so you can do wine tasting all day and just relax here. The restuarant is very accommodating, the chef/owner was very welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Alejandro (chef/owner) made me feel so welcomed the moment I stepped in! He helped me with the menu due to my poquito Spanish and recommended amazing dishes and hot drinks since it was chilly when I came. Dishes were amazing! He went above and beyond in making sure my experience was most welcoming, comfortable, and enjoyable. Thank you so much!
