The filet minion was served with way too much avocado sauce which had very little flavor. The other sauce also had very little flavor. Steak was slightly over cooked for a medium. Veggies were over cooked and not appealing. Totally missing something. The raw tuna starter was delicious. The blue tostadas were bland and tasted old. Drinks were fine, but I expected more overall. Atmosphere is pleasant and parking is OK with only valet parking available. Service was slow at first, then as plates were almost finished someone would picked them up. Took a while to get attention to get the check. Place was not full, but maybe all the rain made things slow down, took way too long to get our car back which was across the street. I will try them again in a few months to see if anything has changed. Pricing was reasonable, but on the high side for what you get overall. I've had much better in other local places for the same price or less...yes the hype is there for being new, but in time if they don't change it will end up ignored. One last thing, the desert brownie was such a disappointment, it tasted like very little chocolate and a small ice cream scope for two large triangles of brownie, should drizzle other flavors sauces on it, I really expected much more. Yes it's probably made from scratch, but be more creative, serve the brownie warm with the melting ice cream on top.
Revisited this place today after 3 months, hoping that things would improve. But it appears that it only has gotten worse. Walked in at 2:30, only one table had people eating and we waited 10 minutes for receptionist to greet us. I ended up looking for someone when I saw most of the restaurant was empty. Finally young lady came out and we were 4 in our party. She said that it would be a long time before they would have a table ready...how can this be we asked politely and then were told no tables are ready...most tables appeared to be ready but they were just working on getting one table ready for a group of 6...how hard is it to put 4 people in a booth that was already ready? I then mention that we should probably just go someplace else. Then the girl changed her mind and seated us...if this countinues people will leave. Waiter was nice and did his part very well. Food was a disappointment. The burger was very under cooked for a medium/well, also just fell apart because the bun was not seared. Sauces were not appropriate for the burger. Fries were great. Filet minion were garnished with tasteless sauces. Fettuccine Alfredo was good. Desert was such a disappointment. Over-all I doubt I will come back for lunch or dinner. Might try their breakfast if I feel up to it...I can tell that management doesn't care by how they lack in response to any reviews. This place went from 3 stars to maybe 1.5 or 2 stars. They really need to improve if they want to stay ahead of the competition. We spent almost $3000mx and expected much...
Read more"Wow, what an incredible dining experience! Maridaje de TECATE Carnes y Vinos truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere drew us in. The decor was beautiful and the lighting was dim and cozy, creating the perfect ambiance for a romantic evening out.
But it was the food that truly stole the show. We ordered the surf and turf combo, which included a juicy ribeye and a succulent lobster tail. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and the flavors were out of this world. The presentation was also impressive, with each dish carefully plated to look almost too good to eat.
The service was top-notch, with our server being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She made great recommendations and was always available to answer any questions we had. The wine pairings were also excellent, with each glass expertly selected to complement our meal.
Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with Maridaje de TECATE Carnes y Vinos. The food, service, and atmosphere all combined to create an unforgettable dining experience. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special night out. Five stars,...
Read moreA very strange experience that I unfortunately have no desire to repeat. The service staff was absolutely fantastic. Parking is a disaster. I had chilaquiles for breakfast that were some of the best I've ever had. They were served with beans and potatoes that had never even heard of salt or seasoning of any type and resultantly had zero flavor. The inside is beautiful and I'm told their cocktails are delightful. The very worst cup of coffee I've ever had. If this sounds confusing it was. Nothing was average but rather things were fantastic or very bad and I was and am still confused by how an establishment that can do so well in some areas can fall so completely flat in others. 2nd star is for the meseros who again were fantastic and...
