Pink Corks in a Rustic Setting seem to capture the heart of the entire Corcho Rosa experience. The expression "A Woman's Touch" is fully realized here in this place. Sitara Perez entered into a tough and dusty landscape and transformed it, by the strength of her own hands and her own vision, into an eclectic visual oasis for the seeker of wonderful wines. Her wines are many and varied; from rich, explosive Reds to a new Summer Wine you could literally drink with your breakfast. She is one of the completely hands-on winemakers in the Valle and her care and passion for every aspect of the process, from vine to glass, is like a mother who lovingly trains her young children and then releases them, watching as they mature into their own personalities. Such is wine. Rancho Corcho Rosa is warm and homey with a small bodega and tasting bar that is far from the commercial, tourist world. Plus a couple friendly Rescued Dogs which complete the picture. The materials are mostly re-claimed and re-purposed making it feel as though it grew out of the very earth. You'll find offerings of home-baked breads and local cheeses to enjoy as you taste the wines. Even if Sitara herself is not pouring for you her other hosts are equally knowledgeable and welcoming. Wines and Winemaker are like Bright Pink Flowers in the desert. You will fall in love with them both and will certainly want to come...
Read moreOn a rustic road off the beat and path in Valle de Guadalupe (Baja California, Mexico) El Corcho Rosa is definitely a place to visit, especially if you are a wine lover. I'm somewhat of a newbie to both wine and this area of Mexico, however was very impressed with the variety of wines, the unique personal touch and creativity by owner/founder Sitara Perez and the friendly atmosphere. Valley Girl Wines features a variety of wines, many of which I had a chance to taste. Two of my favorite are La Consentida (The Pampered Girl), a 2016 sparkling wine, and La Chula (The Girlfriend), a 2016 white wine. Also, La Traviesa (The Flirty Girl), a 2016 sweet rose' went down smoothly, and a red wine from 2014- 50 Shades of Red topped off our visit. The prices per bottle are very reasonable. If you get the opportunity, go experience the ambiance and hospitality of El...
Read moreMy wife and I went here for our first wedding anniversary. The variety of wines were absolutely amazing, one of which was so complex and captivating, it made me weepy. I am remembering my time here back in 2021, and I still remember how much I loved this place! At the time, there was a wine that Sitara decided to out straight into the bottle without aging, and I was super impressed with that decision! There was such a beautiful quality and richness in the wine that aging would have changed. Bold and exciting place. When we went, however, there was no food to go with the wine, which I definitely need as I am a lightweight in the forat place and I like snacks to also help cleanse the palette. Not sure if this element has changed, but it would be my only recommendation. Still such a...
