Ok, this feels crazy; i'm reviewing a chain restaurant. Years of living in Belize have taught me that consistency and standardisation aren't the enemies of good eats. It is a very large American diner-style restaurant located inside a shopping Mall with entrances from inside the mall and the parking lot. We were there for an early lunch, which is hard to find in Chetumal. We got the breakfast/lunch menu, but when we asked for the dinner menu, no problem, they brought it right away. We were super hungry (we eat an early breakfast in Belize before coming to Chetumal for appointments and because of the time difference, we are hungry for lunch before Mexican lunchtime). My husband went for the mushroom burger, which was loaded with mushrooms, avocado, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The thick patty was medium well and juicy, but the bun was a generic hamburger bun, not the delicious Mexican bun we enjoy... but a chain restaurant, right? The fries were seriously delicious. Ultra crisp and seasoned perfectly. Sooooo many delicious-sounding options on the menu, i picked the Hawaiian chicken in a panic. I love any breaded fried meat and this did not disappoint. A large chicken breast cutlet, pounded thin, breaded, and fried til golden and crispy then topped with a bit of tomato sauce, a slice of ham, melted gouda, and grilled pineapple. Just a brilliant combination of flavors. The salad was gorgeously fresh lettuces (not iceberg) and the braise potatoes were zinging with garlic and serrano chile. We are looking forward to trying other menu items on future visits. As everywhere in Chetumal, we are always impressed with the service. It doesn't matter that our Spanish is poor and sloppy. It doesn't matter that they don't speak English: Service is always professional and even...
Read moreThis place is AWFUL!!!! Please save your money and stay away. The service is the worst I have ever had in chetumal. I have gone here many times and they never fail to disappoint. We go there due to convenience. However, everytime we go, we are always ignored for about 10 minutes. The only time they pay attention is when they take your order. The food is mediocre, although their location at the mall is convenient. The coffee is also mediocre.
I ordered my latte and had to ask two other people to please bring me my latte since ny food had arrived. Overall, I waited about an hour for my latte which was NOT a latte when it arrived. Upon asking the waitress to why it tasted or looked the way it did, she cuts me short and says she will bring me a cappuccino......she then proceeds to brings me a warm cappuccino. When I paid, the waitresses picked up the money, rudely asked if I didn't have change, set the money down and walked away.
Please Just go somewhere your money will be...
Read moreFood is acceptable, prices are ok but service is definitely poor. There's no host or hostess, so you just walk in an choose any table you want, the problem with that is that nobody tells the waitresses a new table has been occupied, consequently nobody hands in a menu and you could spend half an hour sitting there and being ignored while the waitresses hang out around an island in the middle of the restaurant cheerfully engaged in their conversation. I had to get up and go to that island and get menus myself, when I was ready to order I got up again and talked to a waitresses who then told someone else we were ready to order, minutes after someone finally approached our table and took our order. We also had to get up and requested our bill. Don't know if this is the service standard at this franchise but to me it just feels you're being ignored...
