First the Spade guys will avoid you, so you eat/fill with the buffet bar, my girlfriend told me, maybe we need another empty plate; The advice here is, if the Spade guys ignore the green sign don't let the walk at your side avoiding you, raise your voice, "Please here" loudly and raising your hand and talk with your waiter for help. The meat 🍖 cut will be very small, like a meatball cutted in two, this bad practice can be avoided with telling the spade guy "More please", he will not ask you if you want more, they are mute 🔕. The buffet bar is very poor in variety, the first 15 minutes the spades avoid you and you try to eat something and is frustrating you can't find alternatives and you end eating more of the same. The desserts and the drinks are not included, beware the waiter will offer you only expensive drink, he don't offer you sodas 🥤 , I asked him ¿have you sodas?, there is no Soda fountain. The only dessert is jelly on two flavors and fried bananas, no ice cream 🍦, cookies or cakes, a cart with cakes can be bring to your table to you to choose, but you will have to pay for it There are so few plates for food, just one pile, with like 10, I needed one, asked the waiter and he never bring me one, I look around and nothing, finally someone bring a few. Don't use your credit card, pay cash, not in this business, but I'm another like this, they clone my card and used; When I asked for the ticket, the waiter asked cash or card; I got no copy of my receipt, just one with the amount to pay in an small plastic folder, the one is needed to charge me, but not my copy, so we leave without receipt. We expend $990 MX/($60 US dollar with keep the change), in two adults buffets, a Coke can and a lemonade (May 25 2024). There's no chips/tostadas/salsas on the table; Some meat 🍖 cuts are very salty. There is only on buffet bar island, you have no choice to wait, or people walking opposite direction and need to walk around other customers. There is shrimp 🦐 Spaces, but we get full with the buffet bar because they play the avoid you game, sadly all first timers get this treatment, read the real reviews. I liked the experience but there is so many small bad practices on this business, that want me to try something more American style avoiding the chilango/scam style, believe me you will feel it. One positive aspect are the bathrooms they are nice and with Scope and hand cream; Just watch out with your face if you try to take paper towels for your wet hands, the door can easily hit you, if...
Read moreAs an American visiting for dinner, I had a good experience even without really knowing very much Spanish. You can get through the dinner being polite and smiling and understanding the order of questions that are going to be asked which is typical of any restaurant.
I’ll compare the experience to Texas de Brazil. The cold salad bar is not quite as good as I would expect from a higher end restaurant but it was adequate.
The reason to go to a Brazilian steakhouse though is the meat, and it was very very good. Everything I put in my mouth was delicious.
The sauces and peppers at the end of the bar are fantastic and that is what elevated the meal to another level.
However, the spoons provided are just regular spoons and half of them were in the sauce, presumably after they had been handled by hundreds of hands. This would be less likely to happen at a Texas de Brazil where people are assigned to look after the cold bar and a hooked ladel would be provided (or a spoon rest)
I’m not letting that get in the way of enjoying my dinner though. You just kind of look past it.
Pace yourself on the meat. After a solid 45 minutes of pretty non stop choices of meat, I realized I still hadn’t tried everything.
A pork tenderloin came out at the end that reluctantly got me to switch from red to green. Definitely worth it.
The meat here is cooked to perfection.
Enjoy the meat, sparingly eat from the salad bar.
The coffee at the end of the meal was perfect. My server was very kind. The meat carvers were efficient and professional.
Overall a good service and meal. My bill ran about $35 before tip with 3 cans of soda, and a coffee.
Typically Texas de Brazil would be right at $50 without a drink.
The shopping plaza is nice and modern and an inexpensive Uber from the border.
Overall I would recommend this but I will probably seek out other dining options on future trips to Juarez.
Don’t worry about coming in late (they are open until 11) they were still replenishing the cold bar at 9pm and people were still coming in to be seated.
I was surprised that tortillas were not offered. They had tortilla sized chips but not...
Read moreA GREAT dinner experience at Las Espadas Churrascaria. From the venue entrance to the warm welcome from the hostess April to the enjoyable service from our server Jazhiel and the professionalism from all the staff and special from Justin & Jovanny the meat cutters and of course couldn't stop mentioning the great and warm welcome from the manager Alex Orta Very friendly and polite, who was always touching our table and making sure our dinner was always as expected. Jazhiel; did a great job staying in top of all our needs, going above and beyond with all our needs. We still have the taste in my mouth of the CARAQUITOS that he prepares for us. Great customer service and a wide variety of amazing cuts and sidebars and of course they have an amazing variety of wines in their cellar which is VIP to me to say the least. My Observations and Recommendations: 1-Think outside of the box. You need to have Rabano Picoso sauce or another alternative, for those of us who like to eat red meat. (Horseradish Sauce, Yuzu Kosho, or Wasabi at least.?) 2- PLEASE……Add Lamb cuts to the Espadas. 3- Need more dessert options. 4- Some of the food in the buffet was sitting out for a long time without refreshing or having appropriate temperature. Remember the 2-Hour Rule: Discard any perishables left out at room temperature for more than 2 hours unless you're keeping it...
