Everyone that I know has visited this restaurant at one time or another. There are a lot of versions of taste and likes of the tacos being served. I have had a few different versions of my visits here. Originally I really enjoyed the tacos here. I visited 4 times and everything was good. The meat, tortillas, vegetables and hot sauces were tasty. The last 3 times the food was not great. One time my niece got hair on her tacos. She joked that she is the one that gets the hair most times. And in the last 3 times I got a lot of fat on my meat. I usually order the 4 taco special and one time I used one tortilla to make a full fat taco and left it on my plate for them to see. There was no comment from my servers or anyone there. Since then I have not returned to la joya. And I doubt if I will go to this restaurant for a long time. Maybe until I forget the fat taco incident. But the restaurant is always full every time I go by. And will be busy...

Los tacos están bien servidos, no son tan grasosos como otros de su tipo y eso es una buena característica; los sirven con doble tortilla por si te hace falta empujar la carnita que se te llega a caer. Hay de dos salsas, las legendarias e infaltables roja y verde. La verde es mi favorita.
El suadero, adobada y buche están en su punto y puedes pedir campechaneado, es decir de todas las carnes. Te sirven calientes los tacos, con un razonable tiempo de espera y mucha amabilidad. Se acompañan con cerveza o refrescos, ambos bien fríos.
Los precios están un poco más altos que en otros tacos, pero valen la pena.
El lugar es el de toda la vida, ligeramente modernizado. A veces hay que esperar que desocupen mesa. Como en otras fritangas, sales oliendo a aceite...
