Restaurante El Torito Steak — Restaurant in Guanajuato

Sunday, 2 pm: I am not sure the name but I had about a kg of inch thick tenderloin cooked to perfect medium rare (which is rare to find in Mexico where meat is traditionally enjoyed well done) This steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender and finished with chipotle salt and a thick layer of melted cheese. I wish I knew the name of this dish so I could reccomend it.

I visited at the busiest time of the week and glad I had reserved a table. Even so, there were lots of attentive servers and the food and service were fast and amazing. The owners are friendly, warm, and wonderful and you can tell when you walk through the door (held open to welcome you with a smile and greeting) that they truly care about their customers, their staff, and the venue. I love the sounds of children laughing in the large play area.

El servicio es lamentable. Muy lamentable. La peor experiencia, desde que entramos comenzó el mal servicio, solamente nos trajeron una carta cuando éramos dos personas, luego de como 20 min tuve que pedir que por favor nos tomaran la orden para poder comer, la comida normal, le pedía cosas y el mesero me reviraba los ojos, ni siquiera contestan cuando les preguntas algo amablemente, nunca se acercaron a preguntar si nos hacía falta algo más a pesar de estar medio vacío el lugar. Solo atienden bien a los que parecen tener más dinero, aunque esas personas sí se comporten groseras con los meseros, su servicio es pésimo, al final, después de darnos cuenta del mal servicio, pedimos la cuenta, decidimos dejar el 5% ya que el servicio es PÉSIMO. AL TRATAR DE SALIR NADIE NOS DIO NI LAS GRACIAS, LA PUERTA ESTABA CERRADA, TUVE QUE AVERIGUAR CÓMO ABRIRLA Y SALIR DE AHI PORQUE NADIE ESTÁ AL PENDIENTE. AL SUBIRME A MI VEHICULO SALIÓ EL MESERO CORRIENDO DETRAS DE NOSOTROS A PEDIRNOS QUE DEJÁRAMOS MAS PROPINA. NO ES POSIBLEEEE! NADIE PARA ATENDERTE PERO SÍ PARA AMEDRENTARTE, LE DIJE AMABLEMENTE QUE NO Y FUE SUPER GROSERO, AL VALET LE DI MAS QUE SUFICIENTE PUES PENSÉ QUE EL NO TENIA LA CULPA DE LO GROSEROS DE LOS MESEROS, ME HIZO UNA MUECA, ME VOLTEO LA CARA Y NI GRACIAS ME DIJO. CERO AMABILIDAD, CERO SERVICO, CERO ATENCIÓN, MUCHO AMEDRENTAR CLIENTES. LLAMÉ AL RESTAURANT PARA QUEJARME CON EL GERENTE Y NO QUISO ATENDERME, ME COLGARON EL TELÉFONO, SUPONGO QUE NO LES INTERESA EL SERVICIO NI EL CLIENTE, PERO HARÍAN BIEN EN PAGAR SALARIOS DIGNOS A SUS TRABAJADORES O EXPLICARLES EL SIGNIFICADO DE "OPCIONAL". TENDRÁN MI QUEJA.

LAMENTABLE EXPERIENCIA. JAMÁS VUELVO YO NI NADIE...

First of all: The naranjada was really nice.

The meat was served on a searing hot pan, and I mean it: There was oil splashing at me and on my clothes and I had to wait around 5 minutes before I could even try the potatoes. I ordered the meat medium-rare, but I ended up eating it well done in the end because it was still cooking all the time it was on my plate. It looked fancy but it was very impractical.

What ended up ruining our stay was the waiter being unhappy with our tip and demanded a bigger one......
