Simplicio’s Steakhouse — Restaurant in Guerrero

I came with a party of 11. We were the only ones in the restaurant.

We have passed this place many times, it has never been too busy but the smell of the meat on the charcoal grill made me want to eat there.

I can't remember the last time I was so disappointed.

I ordered Sopa de Tortilla which tasted just like cream of tomato soup. FFS, take pride in your heritage. Sopa de Tortilla is as Mexican as Quesadilla and Tequila. If I want Tomato soup I go to England.

For main course I ordered Picanha (medium) with French Fries.

Easy eh? Nope. The fries came 10 minutes before the meat. They were cold when the meat came, which coincidentally suites the meat more than one would imagine.

The meat came on an ice cold slab, seeing as all the meals were going to come together my meat was cold by the time I got it.

By this time my experience was ruined.

Give the waiter his due he got me a hot slab but it was a tad too late.

In all fairness most of the parties food was ok, just ok but one of the girls ordered pasta. The portion was so small we had to stopp off at OXXO to buy her a pizza.

We had an absolutely amazing dinner at Simplicio's Steakhouse. Two of us shared a cowboy steak and two shared a Tomahawk steak. Both were cooked to perfection. They were seared with flaming mezcal, table side, which provided a great show and added flavor. The side dishes are delicious and shareable portions. The restaurant is beautiful. We enjoyed the evening breeze in the open air 2nd floor dining room. Given the relaxing the ambiance, the friendly and attentive service, and the fabulous meal, I couldn't find a complaint if...

El restaurante que visitamos para desayunar fue Simplicios Steakhouse Ixtapa, ubicado en Plaza Ambiente, local 1, en Paseo Ixtapa. El lugar cuenta con estacionamiento cercano, lo cual es conveniente.

El diseño del restaurante es minimalista y moderno, con una atmósfera relajada y amena. El personal es atento, aunque la atención puede sentirse un poco impersonal debido a la cantidad limitada de personal. En cuanto a la comida, aunque el lugar tiene un enfoque moderno, hay otros sitios en la zona que ofrecen una mejor experiencia para desayunar.

Pedimos un pan francés de Red Velvet y, aunque visualmente era atractivo, los ingredientes parecían bastante industriales. Aunque tenía buen soporte en términos de sabor, es algo que fácilmente podrías replicar en casa con ingredientes de supermercado.

No recomendaría este restaurante para desayunar, ya que la experiencia no justifica el costo. Sin embargo, creo que podría ser más adecuado para una cita romántica o un encuentro empresarial, ya que la atmósfera se presta para ello. Aunque probablemente sus carnes sean mejores que su oferta de desayunos, siento que el restaurante carece de una personalidad distintiva y se asemeja más a una cadena genérica.

Es un lugar para darse un gusto ocasional, pero no vale la pena...
