Update for 2023: The food here has unfortunately descended to the height of mediocrity. After a couple of visits in the past few months, although the service and atmosphere are still what they used to be; unfortunately the gastronomic offerings leave a lot to be desired now. It's a shame. This used to be a really charming place. ORiginal 2021 review: Perfectly charming lunch spot El Rincon de Frida is easily one of the most welcoming and atmospheric lunch restaurants I've found in years. The decor is perfectly suited to a Frida-themed eaterie, and the service is friendly and attentive. The food is excellent, with the chicken sandwich loaded with succulent, well seasoned chicken breast and the Papas ala Frida being slow roasted and delicious. Heartily recommended...

EL Rincon de Frida’s is a charming gem tucked into an old ranch-style building that offers a warm, artistic atmosphere with open-air seating. The eclectic mix of dining furniture adds character, and the vibrant paintings of Frida Kahlo on the walls give the space a creative, soulful energy. The service is always attentive, and the food is consistently fresh and satisfying. Their menu offers a great variety—salads, soups, and sandwiches—perfect for a light but flavorful meal. I had the tuna sandwich with a fruit salad, and both were delicious. This spot has been one of my longtime favorites, and it never disappoints.

I absolutely loved this place, so much I returned not once, or twice, but three times. We dined in & ordered the Flor de Vida, Las Dos Fridas, & Sin Esperanza Sandwiches. Everything was great, tasted amazing, and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly & attended to all our requests. The only reason I gave them a 4 star was because they forgot to have my to go order on time by the time we were done with our meals. The atmosphere was quaint & peaceful with beautiful Art throughout.

We had a great lunch today. The sandwiches were stacked with bacon and delicious. It was easy for us to get on and off the Chapala bus, close to the OXXO.

Unfortunately we sat at a table outside near the pool and the people beside us started smoking. We didn't realize this was a smoking area as there wasn't a sign nor ashtrays on the table. We would have moved but we all had backpacks and bags to lug around.

The service was great and they brought us water right away which we greatly appreciated. There are washrooms here as well as...
