Solid roadside Italian restaurant

Located out of Ajijic's west-end, Hostería del Arte is a small, intimate Italian restaurant, serving traditional dishes.

Owned and operated by an actual Italian, you expect the food here to be 100% authentic, which it is. The Italian sausage is homemade, and the pasta is imported (not using the usual suspect supermarket brands.)

Service is impeccable and attentive, and there's high quality wine selection available.

About the only negative is the restaurant's roadside location, which is noisy and sometimes marred by exhaust fumes.

Son unos clasistas de primera, mis compañeros y Yo íbamos a comer en nuestro turno de descanso como trabajamos caminando pues íbamos no al 100% presentables Al momento de preguntar si tenían pago con tarjeta nos dijeron que no,que tampoco transferencia por sus cuentas que son de Europa y decidimos por ir a retirar Justo cuando íbamos a ir llega el "Chef" súper déspota a decirnos que si no teníamos dinero para pagar no íbamos a comer de a gratis que le aseguremos el dinero. Y le dijo al que iba a meter nuestras pizzas al horno que esperara a que le mostraramos que tuviéramos el dinero para pagar como si fuéramos a robar Pues fuimos a retirar y nos dieron nuestras pizzas pero no nos arrimaron nada de aderezo, ni cosas necesarias o preguntar si ocuapabamos algo más Cosa que con las personas que iban bien vestidas si! Me pareció de muy mal gusto que ni para recoger nuestro plato ni mucho menos para la cuenta nos tuvimos que parar En mi experiencia mal servicio y que pena por el lugar. Injusto que nos traten diferente por no ir bien vestidos No lo voy a recomendar en lo absoluto Veo que las personas dicen que muy buena atención si van bien vestidos si, pero si no no esperen...

pizza crust is flavorful and nicely chewy/crusty. not paper-thin as a real Napolitan pizza but better than expected. Toppings mislabeled on menu: porcini are really only portabello (but still tasty). Service friendly but haphazard: wasn't at all busy but they don't check back. Coffee forgotten, dessert missing a sauce, condiment request let...
