Last night for my birthday we were headed to a restaurant in Ajijic near the Lake when we saw the sandwich board outside Isa Vella. My girlfriend jumped out of the car, looked at the board with many specials some with lamb which she loves. She pointed for me to park the car and we sat at a nice table inside near the bar while a couple performing music were setting up. We ordered lamb shish kabobs with yellow rice including a salad with cucumbers red onions and olives. We also asked for a quinoa salad with warm cooked veggies underneath. Both dishes were delicious and of course we couldn't finish both. This is not a Greek restaurant but the food reminded me of being in Greece or Turkey. I complimented the kitchen in Spanglish and the singer who had a lovely voice .. guitar guy muy bueno!. When my Greek mom was still with us any Greek restaurant I took her to in New York or California she would always "I make better at home" as I burned thru my credit card.
