I have been to many Brazilian places to eat and this was an interesting experience. Yes, there is a lot of random food available which I can see why people like it as it's a buffet. Few issues, the cuts of meat are okay, they kinda tasted sweet at times. They don't provide tongs for you to get the meat and so the servers are essentially throwing the meat at your plate. At times the meat was falling everywhere in the table. At one point the servers were using the knife poking the meat to put it on our plate. The meat servers would come by in a speedy way and would only ask the 2 people on the front end of the table and then rush off. Our server was non existing, I had to ask someone to take our dirty plates, she never really asked us if we needed anything but once....for a table of 8?... She began cleaning our table when she noticed that we were done. My biggest frustration is that when we paid we did not leave a big tip as she SUCKED! she decided to address the 2 older people in our party, confronted them that we did not leave her a big enough tip, it felt like bullying...unfortunately it worked and they gave her more money. I was pissed and the only reason I did not go back and say something to her directly was out of respect to my family. I personally am never...
Read moreHoodwinked us into a spendy dishonest offer at the end of our meal. The offer was buy 2 shots and get a free small bottle of tequila for a certain amount of money. We said yes, but instead of bringing 2 shots they brought 4 which confused us. We asked about it and they said that because they pour 3 oz shots they always pour it into 2 glasses. We though it a bit odd nothing more. When we got the bill and the small bottle of tequila the bill was for twice the cost we opted in at. When we confronted them about it they blamed it on a misunderstanding between the salesman and the restaurant and on their policy for pouring their single shots into two glasses. We told them that we only asked for 2 shots and intended to pay for 2. The got uppity and said they would give us a second small bottle of tequila but refused to give in on price since we consumed "4" shots. Rather than continue to argue we just paid the double amount and took our 2 small bottles of tequila. We obviously won't be returning and I wanted to warn all about their "deals". I'd recommend Fogon de Brazil just a small way...
Read moreMr Pampas is a very popular restaurant where many locals like to come for their birthday. The servers are friendly and the facilities are solid. The buffet is nice, although it’s missing key dishes one would expect at a Brazilian Churrasco including white rice!
As for the food, it’s not really Brazilian BBQ. Churrasco is all about letting the meat shine by bringing out the flavors in the meat itself. The meat at Mr Pampas is more often than not slathered in some or other Mexican style BBQ sauce. Far worse, the entire staff seems to lack proper training. For the meat, that means it comes out with parts that are burnt, parts that are overcooked, and parts that are raw (and I say that as someone who likes rare steak). The servers do things like put their skewer on your used plate as they shave off meats - which is of course a fantastic way to violate basic food safety laws and spread illnesses.
I want to be clear and say that the staff was very friendly and tried hard. I see the problems as coming from management. Staff (very possibly including management itself) needs...
