La Casita de Alex — Restaurant in Jalpan de Serra

El lugar es abierto para poder disfrutar de la vista. El ambiente es totalmente familiar, así como la atención. La comida es totalmente tradicional, con sazón de casa y las porciones son perfectas. No soy una persona que coma porciones grandes, ambos días que visité 'La Casita de Alex" quedé satisfecha. Esa sensación de comer exactamente lo que el cuerpo va a tolerar sin dar "botonazo". El café de olla mega rico y el jugo de naranja recién hecho y exprimido, frijolitos, crema y queso en chilaquiles que son definitivamente frescos y deliciosos. La salsa verde en los chilaquiles es el balance perfecto de picor . Todo fresco y recién hecho, ese tipo de sazón que las "cocinas tradicionales" en ciudades grandes ya no tienen. Venir a Jalpan de Serra y desayunar en "La Casita de Alex" te da una vibra de un buen inicio de mañana tradicional para las aventuras que tengas planeadas en la zona. Totalmente recomendado.

If yiu are in adventures in this part of the Mexican mountain system, you gotta try this restaurant out to fuel your body before going out for your next adventure in the Nature. First of all, the view is priceless, it is located in a high part of the town and therefore the restaurant is surrounded by trees and the mountains. Second, the food is as traditional as it can get. Everything is very tasty and well-balanced in flavor . Portions are just-about-right, they serve exactly the right amount of food that the body needs without feeling over-fulled or left hungry. Overall it was a nice experience to come eat here. The location is nice above the hills and you get a nice view.

When we were there there were lots of children and it was quite loud so I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic outing.

The food was a little better than average and the service was less better than average. Maybe it was because of the holidays but service was slow and our food took a long time to arrive.

Our hotel recommended La Casita de Alex and we were not disappointed! The location was incredible with a beautiful view from the terrace. We decided to share the house specialty - molcajete, my first time trying the dish. It was delicious and plenty of food to share, which made our meal both tasty and affordable (around $27 USD).
