IHOP — Restaurant in Mérida

I am very disappointed on how long it took to have a meal at this location. 30 mins to wait for a table, 25 mins for the server to show up and take your order, 1 hour to get your food. Doesn’t make sense at all. I understand this location is a very busy location, but if the kitchen can’t handle so many tables then maybe the restaurant shouldn’t be seating so many people because the people that is waiting their experience is really bad. Spoke to the manager and 2 mins later my food came through but completely dried, like if it was sitting in the window for a long time, as well they even got my order wrong. Not a good experience. I am very disappointed in the organization and the individual franchises' ability to choose when to honor the military discount policy. I had lunch with my mother the other day, and you only get smaller portions for what you are paying for. When I inquired about the military discount, the manager stated that it was already discounted. I explained that the meal was cheaper because of the smaller portion sizes and not the same as any other meals on the menu. So I called corporate, and they stated that they cannot force any franchise to do anything different from other stores. It is a typical IHOP in terms of setting, atmosphere. The menu offers that standards plus a few Mexican options. Sunday morning was busy. The indoor dining area was filled, but the outside area had ample tables. The service was good, but when the food arrived at our table one of the dishes was not correct. Rather than return it, I enjoyed something new. The plates looked exactly like the photos on the menu. Definitely worth an occasional visit.
