Nectar was a nice treat while visiting Merida. My group I enjoyed a very nice meal. Enjoyed the relaxed, friendly welcoming atmosphere the music was good too and not too loud. However, the location is a bit strange insofar as my view from the table was the parking lot and through out the meal I was somewhat blinded by the lights of cars that were parking right in front of the building. We chose the 7 course tasting meun which was good but perhaps needed more balance of the course offerings. The group favorite items were the pork belly taco and the grilled red snapper. The entre finale pork chop was over cooked a bit tough and dry and disappointing. The coconut dessert was nice and the yogurt dessert was interesting but seemed unnecessary and didn't pair well with the tasting menu. It would have been nice to have something light a fruity like a sorbet. The service was good but lower than expected as there were mistakes throughout. It seemed some of the service staff may have been in training, but not sure. In fact the last dish was served to everyone at the table but one person. The service staff came back and forth but it took awhile before they noticed the person did not have their dish. They brought as soon as they noticed but a restaurant rated highly as their you'd expect more stellar service. But all in all not a bad dining experience. But didn't quite meet my expectations. But by all means still worth trying...

Jesus, our server was outstanding. He was the highlight of the evening. Great job! However… The owner, Roberto Solis, came into the restaurant, shortly after my partner and I sat down - we were the only seated patrons at the time, right next to the kitchen. He spent time chatting with the kitchen staff, looked our way a number of times, but never so much as even smiled in our general direction. Yet, with each subsequent table (of locals) that came in, he greeted them, spent time talking to them, and even sat at one table for the vast majority of their meal. Us? We were never even acknowledged. I’m typically not paranoid nor a complainer but, we were clearly the only Americans in the restaurant and it felt like a deliberate snub. The vast majority of the food was delightful, but the pork chop was nearly inedible. It looked lovely and had a great flavor but it was 90% fat. There was so much left on the plate that the server asked my partner if he wanted a to-go box. Hard pass. Jesus, our server, was, as mentioned, wonderful - and the restaurant is beautiful. Being able to watch the kitchen while at work was akin to sitting at a chef’s table & very much enjoyable but… For the cost of the food, I expect it all to be exemplary - Not inedible. To note: I grew up in the restaurant business and I would’ve fired an employee if he behaved like the owner did - it was just a slap in the face. Won’t be back & won’t be recommending to others. Do better.

I have not a good experience with this restaurant, I will be starting to say the food is really expensive compared with what you get, service is not so great we ordered sashimi tostadas and was not so good the fish was tasty not so good we mentioned it to the waiter and his answer was oh you you leave a comment and I asked him leave a comment? To whom? And he we can give you something after 5 minutes the manager approached us and asked me about the food my mom mentioned to him about the sashimi tostadas, and how was the taste later he came back and mentioned that the chef was saying that the tostadas was good no problem , my question is if a client is telling you some food does not taste good why this restaurant is creating a conflict with the client , just find a solution, we were not asking for anything back but yes we are looking for a good service that we didn’t receive at all. For me was dissatisfied the service and food apart of that the restroom is located in the 2nd story kind of complicated for disabled people and for women who are wearing a dress 👗 because from the table we were seating everything can be exposed. This picture is the only food that was good. And my stomach hurts

My friends and I where visiting Merida for a few days, so our restaurant choices to try out where limited. We had several recommendations for this place, so naturally, like good food enthusiasts, we had to give it a shot.

The place is quite pleasant, and the staff seemed rather friendly too, or so it seemed...

Whilst selecting from the menu apparently they where all out of two of their main entrees, and three of their main dishes.

This was quite upsetting since we had chosen this location specifically for these dishes.

When we got to the dessert they told us that they had also run out of their signature desert!!!

I could honestly not believe our bad luck!

It was then when I remembered that, whilst making the reservation they mentioned they had two or three big reservations for later that day.

Then I thought to myself, how is it posible they're all out of 6 MAIN dishes when they're expecting big reservations later?

And thats when it hit me!

Could it be that they told us they where out of these dishes to ensure they would have sufficient for their next costumers?

Thats a big no no in my eyes.

Naturally we confronted the waiter, and thats when my hypothesis proved right.

He confessed to these awful truths.

They had indeed lied to us about the availability of their dishes, to ensure they would have sufficient supplies for their next costumers!!!

Who might not even want those dishes!!!

I know right?!

This is down right the rudest thing any venture has done to me.

I DONT RECOMMEND THIS...
