We just stopped here today and I feel like I was taken advantage of. We had 3 tacos and 2 tortas with pork with 2 bottles of water. The signs all around said that the tacos and the tortas dishes were each $35 pesos. They tasted ok which at least was a plus. We asked for the bill and the waiter then said in Spanish $190 pesos it didn’t seem right but it was loud and me speaking ok Spanish but not the best gave him a $500 pesos bill and asked for change. He gave me back only $280 pesos for change now making the total $220 pesos. I looked at him like ok where is the rest and he waved his hand at me and said that’s it. Waiter picked his nose then handled food without washing his hands. You have to watch out. Read reviews carefully and you will see too many 1-star ratings for poor service and lousy, rude behaviorat this place. I found out that locals avoid these market fondas. Now I know why. They are traps. Most clients are from other places, visiting Merida for the market or tourists from far away places. One bad review stands out, by Herberta Natael Che Aguiteta; it is evidence of systemic descrimination. No way to know if there are many that return to this place, but it seems unlikely when there are many dozens of other fondas to choose from. As is said, once burned, always shy of the flame. Make sure you establish the prices before ordering. Count your change! Be extra vigilent! Don't let your guard for a moment or you are likely to...

Their Agua Fresca are amazing. Pineapple and orange were my favorite ones.
I highly reconned...
