Jurema Restaurante Plaza Loreto — Restaurant in Mexico City

This restaurant is located within the Plaza Loreto complex, in the Southern area in Mexico City. For breakfast, their approach is a menu that offers options, including several egg-based dishes. This time, I ordered "Huevos Norteños". Basically, it is a mix of dried beef and scrambled eggs. There was a tiny portion of refried beans on the side. If you look at the picture, their presentation is not that great. The dish doesn't look appealing at all. Worse, it came luke warm and should have asked it to be heated up... This establishment prides itself on the fact that they have their own bakery. This was actually a better experience. Ordered a square with a matcha & cream filling, topped with pistachio pieces. Not too sweet. It hit the spot. Overall, I found this place overpriced. On the plus side, it's location, with outside seating and a fountain highlighted by a Juan Soriano sculpture. Es un lugar tranquilo pero a mi parecer no destaca. La comida es rica pero no única, los precios son algo elevados y no hay mucha oferta de platillos. Está bien para una salida de vez en cuando, más no para regresar, a menos que sea para el cumple de una tía, mamá o señora grande 👵🏻 pero para eso es mejor algo clásico como un Vips, Toks, Sanborns, etc.

Algo que de plano no me gustó fue que la atención de los meseros, que aunque fueron amables la percibí un tanto hipócrita ya que al no ordenar, en su insistencia por ingerir bebidas alcohólicas o pan de dulce, parecía que el mesero se molestaba. No me gustó en especial ese cambio de humor. Tampoco me encantó que sentía que tenían mucha prisa por que consumiera mis alimentos, tipo la Casa de Toño.

En éste restaurante me pasó que al pagar este mismo mesero me pidió casi forzosamente el 15% de propina, le dije que no. Al irme, el mismo mesero me siguió hasta afuera del restaurante para recordarme que no dejé propina, y dejó de insistir hasta que le mencioné que está prohibido exigir propina.

Sé que ellos dependen de este ingreso, pero creo que ya se está haciendo un esfuerzo por parte del gobierno para que los restaurantes puedan dar un pago digno a sus trabajadores y no pagarles basándose en su propina, algo que me parece muy injusto y aprovechado de parte de los dueños de los...
