Panetela — Restaurant in Mexico City

Update April 2023: the most inefficient service I had in the last years. They took the order to only half the table and after asking the same waiter to help us with the rest nothing happened, asked another waiter, nothing asked the captain and initially nothing only after 30 minutes the initial orders starters arriving before they get the order from the rest of the table. The first order was totally forgotten and this made 1 hour delay to receive the first dish!

The food is not that bad but my order was chilaquiles with Costilla and was very dry for the price. The bread is good at least...

2021 or 2022: Went here for breakfast to celebrate someone. The buffet is very very good! Very tasty and well served. Whay not 5 stars? Well only one bathroom per gender... As the restaurant Is very good there is a long queue just to go to...

Había ido a este lugar hace varios años ya (cuando aún era buffet y estaba súper rico). Volví a ir el fin de semana pasado porque vi súper buenas recomendaciones en Google de lo rico que era todo; sin embargo me llevé una sorpresa no muy buena. En mi opinión el lugar es muy pequeño (más de lo que recordaba). Los desayunos tienen precios muy altos para lo que son. Ejemplo, un desayuno en promedio anda en 150-200 (todo se pide por separado), si lo quieres convertir en paquete te cuesta $280. Son desayunos realmente muy básicos, por ejemplo recuerdo que unas gorditas de chicharrón (son como 4 pequeñas) cuestan aprox $160 pesos, un café $40 pesos (que me imagino no incluye refill, porque nunca nos lo ofrecieron), y un pan $40 pesos. O sea que si quieres pedir un desayuno de los más sencillos por separado (sin jugo), te va a salir en aprox $200 pesos. Unos molletes con chorizo $190. Las porciones son bastas, pero la verdad es que los ingredientes no son de la mejor calidad. No me mal entiendan, no es que me sorprenda por el precio en sí, sino por la relación calidad-precio. La verdad es que por $280 pesos puedes comer en un lugar mejor (por ejemplo en la Antigua Hacienda de Tlalpan). Por la zona también hay otro restaurante del mismo tipo donde se come bastante rico, y con desayuno completo te sale más económico, además de que tienen una variedad mucho más amplia de desayunos y a mi parecer la calidad de los ingredientes es mucho mejor.

En cuanto al servicio no tengo nada que decir, nos atendieron bien.

My second time here. The first was awesome so the second one. Just the service was a little bit distracted. I had to stand up several times to call another server to help us. Pastries are the bomb but there’s a minimum purchase so I had to buy 7 cookies instead of 3. The flavor is excellent but the presentation is a little bit odd.
