El Madrigal — Restaurant in Morelos

Ok this is a very very good place as it is very exclusive and with an amazing garden You can take great pictures. And this is why I give 2 stars to it because talking about food is not that great I would even say it is a 1 star!

First if they are going to be that expensive they must treat you as a very good restaurant, the service is very bad we had like 4 waiters and everyone was a little clumsy.

The food, ok there are very very expensive dishes and we chose 3 dishes not THAT expensive and they were just mehhh (I hope this explains my feelings). Now the presentation of the dishes.... Just BAD! I make better things at home with frozen food. Taste: well... not great. I think it says a lot if you put salsa on your dish and we did.

The place is overvalued as a lot of people still goes as it is beautiful and maybe it was a place with great food, just by looking at the cars in the parking you know the kind of place you are going, if people still goes there without requesting good service and food the place will continue to make more profit without making the needed effort.

To end my opinion, I do recommend the place but I would like you to be demanding and they will start to change.

Oh and I almost forget, we drink a bottle of clericot and was the worst we've ever had! It tasted like soda with grape juice and...

I used to be a BIG fan of this place. But something's happened here.

So. Great place, lovely ambience and Cuernavaca's weather makes this a good place to visit 325/365.

However. Their bar sucks now. We ordered martinis and margaritas (simple things) that were awful. Opt for the "sangria natural" instead (limeade with red wine). So cocktails are out now.

They used to be awesome about transitioning you from their outside drinks + appetizers area to the main dining room. But this time? We waited about 40 minutes between the appetizers and the main courses. Cold bread (used to be freshly baked), long wait times and frozen entrees. We ordered the previously awesome Chile ancho which is now bland and accompanied with an ill-fitting sauce, filet mignon with peppercorn sauce (4/5), milanesa de res and mango ceviche.

Alright, this was a point of contention with our party. For 70% of us, having the word "ceviche" in there implied fish, right? Wrong, mango ceviche is just a mango, jicama and cucumber salad. So...just make sure you ask what you'll get ok?

Al llegar te reciben tu auto si o si , entras al lugar y ves un lindo jardín no tan grande pero bonito,con una fuente y mesas alrededor al aire libre,hay otra área donde hay una chimenea y otras mesitas y sillones acogedores,vi que es más un área para tomar café, una copa,comer una botana,hay mucha vegetación y la área está muy muy agradable. La comida se sirve en otra área o salón,no se si por ser ahora temporada de calor,pero las moscas estaban a todo lo que dan,pegadas a los platos que hay en las mesas y la verdad no me gustó pues para un restaurante con esos precios que tienen en sus platillos,creo que se deben de cuidar esas cosas que parecen insignificantes pero que son de suma importancia para una buena calificación,(pedimos los platos fueran cambiados ,pero ya) La comida es muy cara y no tan buena,el mole negro estaba amargo,la sopa de lentejas nada bueno que decir de ella,el carpaccio de res,ese estaba muy bueno y recomendado,la sopa de aguacate fría muy buena y el aguacate relleno de camarones 2 que 3. En general su cocina creo le falta mucho para llegar a ser de primer nivel,pues creo yo quieren emular al muy premiado restaurante las mañanitas,pero les falta mucho para llegar a ese nivel. Sirven agua en copas de vidrio en unas garras de laton ya medio oxidadas y creo yo que eso contamina el agua,además tampoco sabemos de dónde proviene el agua que sirven. Te dan unos panes para acompañar tu comida que valen mucho la pena,la comida tarda un poco en llegar pero nada del otro mundo,pero si llegas con hambre pues hay que comer el pan pues tendrás que esperar un rato por tus platillos . Creo que les falta mucho por pulir para llegar a ser un restaurante de 5 Estrellas y creo los empleados deben de tener su propia área de baños pues los ves lavándose los dientes así como así,el área de baños está súper bien eso sí,pero les falta mucho por mejorar,mucho que pulir,muchos detalles que no pueden pasar por alto y que son cosas que los clientes notan,así como yo lo hice hoy alguien más lo notará y la verdad me quedo mejor en las mañanitas,talvez este sea un poquito más caro pero lo vale pues se esmeran mucho por la atención y darte cosas de calidad, incluso si pides algún drink en su área de jardín te dan unas papas o cacahuates y un dip,aquí en el madrigal si pides en su área de jardín y pides un vaso de agua,te lo sirven en vasos mal lavados y no te dan ni un hielo ,ni una botana o de perdida un cacahuate. Éramos 8 personas y se pagaron aproximadamente 8 mil pesos de cuenta ,fueron pocos drinks y tres sopas,los demás nos fuimos por el plato fuerte. Al final puedo decir Caro y medianamente bueno...
