Bandidos de comida en Nuevo Vallarta...
What a Sad Sad little place is place this has become. My family and I have been coming here for nearly 4 years now. The food is always been... okay. Recently my wife went to pick up food for us, deciding to get the nachos, which on the menu are described as big enough to share for two. We certainly thought this would be a reasonable meal, and the fact that it cost $240 Mexican pesos, roughly $15 American. For that amount of money you would expect the food to be delicious, enormous, flecked with bits of gold, whatever at least something impressive. However, this was far from Reality. As you can see by the photo I posted of our meal, there are really only 15 chips on the plate, with a little bit of meat, little bit of beans, some cheese, sour cream, and some guacamole. When my wife went back to question the manager that was there at the time about how could they possibly seriously charge that much money for that little amount of food. She was told that that's plenty of food and that's the way it comes. As I said we have been coming here off and on for quite some time and certainly aware of the food prices here, and by any stretch of the imagination in Mexico or in the United States this is a complete rip-off. In years past I've actually recommended this place, but I feel the quality has gone downhill, the restaurant is all show and no go, and now that they have taken just a gouging customers. Thanks but no thanks. When something has a clear description on the menu as being big enough for two, you think that there's going to be a little bit more, and when you're actually paying the same amount that you would for two separate meals anywhere else, for one simple appetizer you expect that it actually is going to have some substance.

Read moreWhile this restaurant is not "5 stars" in terms of complexity or ambiance, the food is so good that I wouldn't feel right giving it any other rating. It's at a very low price point for most options on the menu, but the food tastes like it would be worth so much more. Whether you are on a budget or not, I would recommend stopping by here for a lunch or dinner.
Ambiance: 3/5 There is only outdoor seating here, with a view of a small lake or the road. Most of the seating is covered by a pavilion. The seats are comfortable and the table settings are quite nice for the price point of the menu. Once it gets dark they light candles which give the area a cosy feeling. The most redeeming quality of the ambiance is the friendly staff, who make sure you are comfortable and enjoying every part of the experience.
Food: 5/5 Best. Fajitas. Ever. I can't believe such high quality food is so cheap. My father ordered a steak, and said the quality rivaled a 5 star $30 usd steak he had earlier in the trip. The seafood, pasta, and appetizers are all delicious as well. They bring out flavorful tortilla chips with a variety of dipping sauces as a complimentary snack while you wait for your food. Warning: some of the sauces are spicy! Naturally I recommend the fajitas, there are a lot of different options and all are excellent.
Beverages: 4/5 If it weren't for a small selection, Fajitas Republic would earn 5 stars here as well. They have the expected soft drinks and domestic alcohols, but not much else. The mixed drinks they prepared for us were tasty and strong. Be especially careful with the margaritas, they go down easy but hit you hard!
Overall: 5/5 As I mentioned, this is not a "5 star restaurant" by the conventional definition. It's not going to cost you an arm and a leg, there is no indoor seating, and you won't be catered to with the over the top service of a typical 5 star restaurant. But for all it lacks, Fajitas Republic makes up for it all with the absolute best fajitas and a friendly atmosphere. You will not regret eating here, its great for a family, couple, or group of friends, and there are menu items for everyone regardless of dietary restrictions or preferences. I promise this place is worth a visit. Thank you for...
Read moreWe have visited Puerto Vallarta several times over the years. Our friends told us about this amazing restaurant we had to try. Fajitas Republic is such an amazing little restaurant. The interior and exterior seating areas are decorated very well. I think we loved the lighting the most! The food here is amazing! We actually came back twice on our last visit. Of course they do Fajitas! You will not be disappointed with whatever you order. We started out with the guacamole and chips, which we could not stop eating! They cook everything perfectly and you are given plenty of sides to go along with your main dish. Oh, and when they bring the fajitas to the table they poor some tequila over them and set them on fire. Um, yeah! We had to partake of a few margaritas as well. Again, we were not disappointed. They have a full bar which can make you whatever cocktail your heart desires. Plenty of options on the menu for children and teenagers as well. The staff were really great! There were no issues in splitting up the bill for a large group so that made things much easier. You are able to pay in cash or by credit card. After we were finished with our meal the staff assisted in calling a taxi to come and take us back to the resort. They were very accommodating and much appreciated. I normally like to comment on the ADA accessibility of anywhere I go. I would say that they are wheelchair "accessible" with a little help. The parking lot is gravel so there may be a few issues in maneuvering. The restrooms are...
