Best. Tacos. In town. This place made me go back and change my review of Tacos On The Street to 4 stars because these two CANT be in the same level. More meat options than the other place and even better flavor. We had the barbacoa tacos. While I would have ordered them anyway, the owner who helped us wanted to know that all their food is good, but the barbacoa is his specialty and we had to try it. So I did and I even went back for more because they were just that good. Coqui was in the back hand making the tortillas for our tacos as we ordered them. The salsa they brought to the table was beyond flavorful, and the beer was ice cold. And the price was unbelievably low. I want to add more about Juan, who helped us. We went when it was slow so this might not be the case when it’s busy, but he was so nice. He spoke great English but my wife and I were really trying to speak Spanish. He encouraged us and helped us with words we missed or got wrong.

Best adobada and Mahi tacos I've ever had. Juan and Coqui and their family are so friendly, warm and welcoming. You can't go wrong enjoying a meal here, the tortillas are freshly made to order, and they have great margaritas and ponche too!! Their salsas are also really delicious, I love green salsa and theirs is one of my favorites. 10/10 would recommend. June 2023 update: right now they have discounted prices for low season. All of the food at Fonda Coqui is delicious, the service is great, and if you're lucky you can order a special dessert from Maria. She has her own dessert business and is an excellent pastry chef. I buy their green salsa by the litre, and we eat there a few times a week. What more can I say? My favorite dish is the mole spaghetti, it's just so good. A little spicy, savory, and rich.

This is a really good taco place. Huge place not too many tables. Share a table if you are a small party. Seems like a family operation, we only saw three people working, the abuella cooking, and two waiters like her husband and son. Service was very friendly, but they are just too understaffed, they need another waiter and someone split doing meats and tortillas. Everything was handmade, we watched as the abuella mixed the maiz for the tortillas. Menu is very simple, we didn't see any alcohol on the menu but did see people doing tequila shots. Very inexpensive menu, we had 5 tacos and two Cokes -just a tad over $200 pesos.

Per some other reviews, the Tacos are some of the best you will find, more flavorful that Tacos on the Street directly across from them. For whatever reason they seem to always have less people in the restaurant than across the road, but don't be scared, go with flavor over the crowd. It's a machine across the street, much more personal here.

As with Tacos on the Street, the menu is limited beyond the Tacos, Coquitlam has specials Mon, Weds, and Fri nights, but no need based upon the taco selection.

Fun little thing as well, they have a whitewashed wall you can write your comments on. For any Canadians, feel at home with multiple Canadian Flags throughout...
