Octava Cafe is a little gem. It is a well maintained and cute cafe located on a very quiet residential street. It is very tranquillo and has a great zen energy.
The owner, Zyanya, is very personal and sweet. She is bilingual, so communication is a breeze. She has a small library of books if you want to read while you enjoy your brownie and latte.
Yay, that she is opened year round. We live here now and I'm always appreciative of the businesses that stay open! And I only discovered that she is open in the morning until 1:00 pm then reopens at 5:00.
My favorite part about her desserts is that they aren't overly sweet. I don't eat pecan or apple pie in the States because they are cloying sweet. But I enjoy her pecan as well as her apply tarts.
One of our other favorite desserts are her "mystery " brownies. That's my name for them because they have a variety of chewy bits in them. If you take them home, be sure to wrap them in plastic to keep them moist if you are not going to eat them right away.
My husband and I have been coming here for almost a year now. On today's visit, she informed me that in June of 2023, she will be closed for construction improvements. But that is only going to happen that year.
You've got to try this cafe!...
