Tomatina — Restaurant in Nayarit

We ate at Tomatina’s for dinner during our stay. Overall the food was mediocre (great pizza!), but many items were cold and they missed an item we ordered. The ambiance was wonderful, but there are other gorgeous views on the beach. Five of our party of six ate ceviche and all experienced stomach illness in the next 12 hours, all symptoms aligned with food poisoning. I am positive of the source of the food poisoning as we all shared food earlier in the day. This was the only difference in our eating all day. While the food poisoning was obviously upsetting and worthy of the 1 star, I do realize it can happen in warm climates with seafood. The worst of our experience was the restaurant manager’s reaction when we returned the next day to tell them about it. She was very dismissive and rude. Do NOT eat here. This difficult. I loved this place and recommended it to our group of 20 plus people. When we showed up the next day, I met the owner Sasha and told him how highly I had spoken to my group about his pizza. He then denied me access to the beach in front of his place because I had a cooler with a twelve pack of beer. Our group had already bought a few pizzas and drinks at this point, and planned to buy more plus more drinks.. The beer we had was just to drink at the beach! Although he was polite in asking me not to access the beach through his restaurant, but it changed the vibe of our afternoon and we will not go back there. My favorite place in earth, this is the best spot on the coast. As soon as you walk in you feel the amazing vibe and the beautiful scenery of the beach. Than we started with incredible and unique drinks with our feet on the sand and GREAT SERVICE, absolutely on point. Attention to every single details, timing and a presentation of the drinks and appetizers will not disappoint. The selective menu is impossible to not order a little bit of everything. We had the best of the best fresh food, incredible flavors and excellent quality. This is a long review but for sure well deserved.
