Cantina La 20 | Monterrey — Restaurant in Nuevo León

We had a business dinner at this Cantina La No 20 restaurant in Monterrey last night, which was a total disappointment. I had to look for someone to seat us, which took about 10 min., then we waited about 45 minutes before our order was taken not to mention I had to flag someone down again. The restaurant wasn’t even a fourth busy when we walked in. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were terrible. Too dark that we needed our phone lights to read the menu. Even the waiter put his phone lights on for the guests seated at the table behind us as he was describing dishes. First our drink order. Two of us ordered the Ámbar fruit drink which was not what we were served at all. I mentioned it to the waitress who called a higher up who insisted that we had gotten the right drink. I showed him their own menu and I mentioned there was only maybe a hint of maracuyá and pineapple flavor and a few pineapple chunks. It was basically all water and ice. Definitely not what is pictured and much less what is described on the menu. He proceeded to admit they use syrups and not fresh fruits. He brought me the syrup bottle so that I could flavor it to my content. Yuck! And that was so extremely rude and insulting. I told him I didn’t want it and he offered a fruity replacement with whatever fruit he would have in the kitchen. I got frozen chunks of fruit in water, to which I decided to say nothing more. I should have known that the food was not going to be any better. My arrachera/rib eye tortilla tacos were literally drenched in lard like grease. The meat was a thin sliced who knows what kind of meat, but not ribeye. Everything at this restaurant was awful.. How can it be that it has 4.7 star rating? We are all staying at the Westin right next door and the rib eye tacos at the restaurant in the hotel were very good. We all were very displeased and totally disappointed with Cantina La No. 20 restaurant. The ratings were very deceiving. I do not recommend this restaurant at all and we would have left had it not been such a long and tiring work day for us at the Cintermex convention center and it being about 9pm....

Quiero iniciar mi reseña aclarando que mi visita fue en el día del padre por lo cual puede que mi crítica este fuertemente afectada y no sea la manera más justa de poder calificar el lugar. Iniciando con que el servicio estuvo muy por debajo de lo que esperaba, practicamente nos la pasamos rogando por que nos atendieran desde las bebidas, las comidas y hasta la cuenta. Desde que llegamos a la mesa pasó UNA HORA CUARENTA MINUTOS para que pudieramos probar nuestros alimentos y si me preguntan si valió la pena o no , rotundamente digo que NO. Pedí el tuetano gigante y las tortillas estaban mal preparadas y duras y la carne y demás del platillo muy promedio. No para aguantar tanto tiempo. Agregandole que tuvimos que pedir servicio de diferentes meseros y algunos de ellos no se veían lo suficientemente preparados como para el tipo de lugar. Inclusive cuando ya trajeron mi platillo, como indico casi 2 hrs después se le cayó al mesero y tuvo que ir a que lo arreglaran o pedir otro, que la verdad no quise ni preguntar que paso realmente. Todavía rematando que para la cuenta tuvimos que esperar demasiado tiempo pero la verdad estabamos a nada de irnos. Definitivamente una muy mala experiencia que repito se vio opacada por un día festivo pero se deben de tomar cartas de precaución sabiendo que esto...

Nos encanta este lugar. Es muy amplio, las sillas son muy cómodas, la música está en el volumen perfecto y la selección de música es excelente. Tienen muy buen ambiente. La ubicación está muuuuuy bien, tiene vistas muy bonitas.

La mixologia es muy buena, las quesabirrias, las verduras asadas, tacor gobernador, el fideo, las palomitas de camarón y coliflor están deliciosas, un platillo con mole también me gustó mucho. La cajita feliz de los niños está perfecta para ellos, son cajitas para cada "platillo" e incluye una galleta y una limonada super rica.

La atención es espectacular. Siempre atentos y amables.

Lo único que le hace falta es vender cerveza del grupo Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma y explorar publicidad por redes sociales porque nunca me ha salido en sugerencias y sería bueno darse a conocer más para que la gente conozca lugares bonitos y ricos.

Relación precio - calidad excelente 👌 Puedes probar seis o siete platillos (entre entradas y platos fuertes) por un precio justo. En otros lugares por el mismo costo pruebas tres platillos máximo.
