Taquería Orinoco ( Centrito Valle ) — Restaurant in Nuevo León

Good, but not the best: A few pointers for foreigners and newcomers:

1. Individual tacos are a little bit too small, for the full experience order the campechana, gringa, pirata, norteño.
2. The pork rind is over-fried, so it's crispy on the outside but not tender inside, which would be ideal. The end product is a crouton-like texture kinda dry so you'll have to drown the chicharrón in salsa unless you want to eat a very dry taco.
3. The corn tortillas are good, but not as good as the ones served in southern México so go all the way with flour tortillas, which are killer on their own.
4. The house beverage it's awesome, an unusual mix of guava, hibiscus, cinnamon that's very refreshing for hot summers and delicious.
5. Don't take out! Eat there! It's a totally different experience, also you have a very good service at your disposal and enough salsa to share, opposed to a very limited portions on take-out.
6. I would go with the beef tacos, since this region of Mexico has very good cattle so beef it's always a winner.
7. This are good tacos, they stand out from others around and made a name on their own so much that became a staple of nightfood, however they are not the best around. It's more like a place you can say you visited but the food doesn't stand out too much. Good ones, but...

Food is fantastic. Recommend the campechana (140 peso) and a Coke Zero. All orders come with the condiments tray so you can dress up your taco your way. Fresh limes to squeeze, four different sauces, and sour cream. Friendly and fast service. They take your order, drink comes out first with the tray and napkins; five minutes later taco arrives. Casual street food style ambiance, with people quietly chatting. Old and young alike. Enjoy!

We travel to walk, explore and find hidden gem local eats. Finding this Taqueria Orinoco was like hitting the jackpot. The array of sauces and salsas was wonderful. The Res tacos were perfection.
