SCAM ALERT: Check your bill and food poisoning caution! Our bill was inflated from 6 drinks that we had for 3 people to 10 (we had 3 beers but were charged for 7 adding $360 pesos to the total). The tip (propina) was included, so do not tip more. When I pointed out the error - the payment staff put on a performance - checking slips of paper. Not a word of apology from the payment staff - in fact, they acted like I was the problem (we were only there for 1 hour on a boat tour, there is no way we could throw back 7 beers + other drinks). Meanwhile I noticed that other guests had problems with their bills. (I took a photo of the bill; later a server came to our table to apologize. He said mistakes happen when it is busy (it was not that busy). Also, my son had a ridiculously overpriced mojito ($200 pesos) which we are certain caused him food poisoning (dirty mint). That is the only thing he ate or drank all day that we did not also consume. It is hard to know where to sit at a busy beach like Maguey.
