Loved having mezcal on the rooftop terrace. It has a great ambiance and a good amount of seating. The staff was friendly but service took a while, which doesn’t make sense since we were just ordering mezcal and nothing fancy. If you come with a large group it may be hard to find seating on the rooftop if you come at peak hours since it is a very popular spot. They had a ton of variety of mezcal, and prices ranged. It’s not a place where staff will explain everything about mezcal, and our server was not particularly knowledgeable about it either. I think it may have been the server we had because another one was able to explain a little bit more and helped us make a selection. Overall, great place to come with friends, enjoy some mezcal and relax on...

Mezcal and Munchies 😋 This is, kinda, your prototypical Oaxacan mezcaleria. They have an impressive selection of mezcal, including a healthy selection of their own product all of it very very good. You've got folks who are happy to either leave you to your own devices, help you just enough for you to hurt yourself, or spend hours chatting with you about the specifics of the mezcal you're drinking, their own favorites, and whatnot. There's also mezcal-appropriate food, i.e., nothing fancy, but all of it designed to help cut the alcohol (oh those fries!). There's also a roof-top which can get crowded, and the small high-top tables indoors perfect to just spend a few hours of the crazy afternoon heat. In short, well...

Tourist trap: this place is great if tou want to get 2 non-alcoholic drinks for 200 MXN and a bartender whose look on "why come if you don't drink alcohol?".Yes, and on top of super-rude bartender and overpriced drinks the place is full of people that don't wear masks - we left.

I mean the place is very nice but I don't need to be kn overpriced bar full of hipster outside of London...why would I come here then??

This is Oaxaca you can cross a street and drink with local street artists cheap beer directly from their gallery or get a proper top class mezcal cocteil from la mezcaleria. Why wasting your time on this overpriced...

Google maps makes a lot of ‘craft beer’ promises in Oaxaca and doesn’t necessarily deliver on them. Luckily, La Mezcalerita is holding up their end of the bargain for the whole city. They have an extensive list of local bottled craft beers and enjoying one while watching the sunset from their rooftop balcony is one of the best experiences I’ve had since we arrived here. The food looked good too, although we were already on a ‘taco promise’ elsewhere. I had a First Ascent Double IPA by Ammon and it was VERY good.
