This place was easily the BEST place we ate in all of Oaxaca! It was the highlight of our time in Mitla. I had the enchiladas de la casa, and when I tell you that I cried tears of joy after finishing my plate, I mean it! I genuinely think about my mole at least once a month and salivate thinking about it. The chocolate was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was especially kind. I highly recommend sitting on the third floor, which is the outdoor patio floor. You’ll get a great view of Mitla, the market, the old church, and the mountains. I am already dreaming of coming back here!

So we decided to stop for a quick bite after touring Mitla and that turned out to be the best decision ever. The food was the best I have had in Oaxaca. The beans, something so simple, turned out to be excellent! We had memelas and they were the best! The flavors were amazeballs! Totally recommend this place!

We stumbled upon this restaurant exiting the Mitla archeological site, so we weren’t expecting much. But it turned out to be quite good! I had the peasant soup (vegetarian) which was delicious and packed with flavor. My partner had the tasajo (beef) which he also liked.

My partner came in at 11:00 AM for a coffee, and the staff looked surprised to see a customer. Eventually they managed to get her a coffee. When I joined her half an hour later, staff first told me there was no one in the cafe, and they seemed confused about me trying to go in. I was lost until she spotted me and called me from the terrace.

Inside, again the staff seemed confused about what we wanted there. In a cafe. During opening times. This included when we wanted to pay - we needed to convince someone to...
