Restaurante Mágico Atardecer — Restaurant in Oaxaca

Came here for evening dinner for the view and rating. The location is quite hard to get to but in a stunning place with wonderful views of the beach and sunset. Despite reviews saying service can be very slow, we found it to be excellent. The choice of food was very good and the quantity enormous. We ordered ceviche between 2 of us and it was enough for 4 people. We also ordered mushrooms, fish filet and octopus plus a beef burger, with beers and mojitos. The quality of both the ceviche and the octopus was average, with the octopus being very rubbery, but the rest of the food was very good. We came back again another evening and had fish filet, beef burger and steak and the food was excellent. The value for money is also excellent....

Beautiful space, really flavourful food.

We walked down the beach from San Agustinillo - maybe 10 minutes. The restaurant is clearly marked from the beach (a bit before the headland), and then up the stairs.

It’s on 3 levels, all overlooking the beach with views of the sunset, but only the top level was full when we were there.

There are a couple of awesome tables for bigger groups. Very family friendly, with toys and games about. They’ve even provided big spray - although it wasn’t particularly buggy when we were there.

Very lengthy menu with fish, meat, chicken and vegetarian dishes, sandwiches, tacos, grilled dishes, etc. Everything we had was delicious.

Time it to be there just before sunset....

The view was beautiful. However the following morning I got very sick. Sharp, stabbing abdominal pain, nausea, fatigue, fever. The symptoms lasted for three days and included vomiting and diarrhea. I didn't eat anything around when I ate this food, so I know that the food poisoning must be from this place. And i wasn't new to Mexico, i had already been here for two weeks and hadn't been sick. The service was also very slow and they waited 30 minutes to tell us they didn't have any more of one of our orders. I ate The shrimp tacos and they tasted good and the guacamole and salsas that came with chips tasted good. I'm sorry to say I cannot...
