Our family stayed at Mereva Tulum for 4 nights and we ate at their Bsky restaurant a good amount of times that I know what i'm talking about. To start off the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and pretty quiet but it is not on the water like some of the restaurants around it who are. I think this is mainly for the wind and to maximize everything else on the water which I respect. There aren't too many tables but you don't need a reservation ever because its not needed as its usually pretty sleepy but always a few tables sitting down. I will say that we did go to a few restaurants around the small street and to be honest this is the best one. Yes, the food is expensive but its similar everywhere here on the water.
Breakfast: Since we stayed at Mereva Hotel breakfast was included so we didn't have any of the specials that looked good but were not included. You do get 2 drinks, 1 starter, and 1 main course. The drinks are very good, I recommend the fresh orange juice! The starters were sub-par as they ran out of the acai bowls quickly since they only had 5 a day, so we usually just had to settle for a croissant which was locally baked or avocado toast which was tasty. I ordered the omelet every day and it tasted like a regular omelet but it did come with a good serving of fresh guacamole every time.
Lunch: COME HERE FOR LUNCH! Every day for lunch we ordered it to a table on the beautiful beach and it was amazing. The menu at this time was also the best. DO NOT miss out on the amazing fish tacos. The quesadillas were also very good with lots of guacamole. Service is slow but thats just how it is everywhere in Mexico so we usually swam or played games on the beach while waiting. EAT HERE FOR LUNCH!
Dinner: PRETTY EXPENSIVE! I got the brisket which was reasonable priced but it was just alright. I had a problem with eating dinner here just because they didn't have anything on the lunch menu on the dinner menu and all we wanted to eat was the amazing Mexican food they offered for lunch but not for dinner. We even asked but they couldn't do it for us. They say that the wood oven pizza is "amazing" but its just alright. Im not visiting Mexico to eat pizza, we want Mexican and as far as I know they didn't have much Mexican food on the menu for dinner. Just come here for fish...
Read moreHad wanted to leave a better review but unfortunately this was not very good, especially for the price. Came away feeling like we had been to a ‘fancy’ Mexican McDonalds.
None of the ingredients were fresh and lacked taste. We found this quite surprising, given this was something we consistently found everywhere we had food in our past 2 weeks in Mexico.
No waiter came to our table. So our food and drink orders were made via the app, even though place was empty. No enquiry/interest from staff on whether we wanted anything. We even paid at the bar. Still charged 15% service charge in the bill. Generally felt very un-personable, uninterested in us dining there.
Place looked nice though, was...
Read moreMy experience here was an absolute disaster, I wish I could give this place -5 stars. The staff redefined unprofessionalism, making waiting for food and drinks an agonizing ordeal - waited 30 mins just for drinks. Shockingly, our order resembled a twisted interpretation of what we actually requested. The pizza, a tasteless travesty, was a culinary insult.
To add insult to injury, the location of this establishment seems like it was chosen specifically to inconvenience patrons. In all my years of dining, this place stands out as the epitome of disappointment. I wouldn't wish this culinary catastrophe on my worst enemy. Save yourself the agony – steer clear of this Restaurant...
