La Palapa — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

I can't say enough good things about this food. If I use my slang, this place is "bangin". My wife had the best lobster of her life here and one of dudes David dove into the ocean and got it that morning! Bam! Hardcore man. We haven't had a bad meal yet and we eat there A LOT. David even brings food to the house when we send a What's App. He tells us the specials on the spot. The food is NOT expensive at all by US standards. You will pay twice as much on the beach in Playa Del Carmen or in Cancun and it won't taste half as good. I promise. Had an amazing night! Came here because the other place we were going for dinner was closed. Loved the food and the people! Such a fun and inviting environment. I want to bring all my friends and family here! We happened to come on a Karaoke night put on by a couple from the US who lives there now. I believe they have them Monday and/or Thursday nights. We got there around 7 and they were just starting. So much fun!!! Our servers and host were amazing as well and having fun along with the rest of us.

Side note, do not try to pet or feed the cats. They will scratch...

La Palapa has a great location just off 307 yet in the center of a lovely town and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They rescued me a few months ago when I had a dead battery on a Sunday which needed replacing. They also supported an animal sterilization clinic hosted in Chemuyil. The atmosphere is lovely and welcoming, the music notably not blasting, and the food excellent with a large menu. Parking is plentiful. I understand they have karaoke on Mondays which many friends have told me about because of the fun they had. We plan on coming here...
