My visit to Vesica Tulum was nothing short of magical! As a traveler from the United States, I was blown away by the serene beauty and unique experiences this place offers. The eco-friendly architecture and lush greenery create a truly immersive connection with nature. The staff’s warm welcome and dedication to sustainable practices impressed me. The cenote ceremony was a profound spiritual experience, and the farm-to-table dining was a culinary delight. Vesica Tulum is a hidden gem in the heart of Tulum, and I can’t wait to return for more unforgettable moments. Highly recommended! I must also commend our wonderful waiter, Tomas. His attentiveness and knowledge of the menu added to the exceptional dining experience at Vesica Tulum. Tomas not only served us with a smile but also shared insights about the locally sourced ingredients, making our meal more meaningful. His warm and friendly personality made us feel like cherished guests. It's clear that the staff, including Tomas, take great pride in what they do, and their dedication truly enhances the overall experience. Thank you, Tomas, for your outstanding service!

The Vesica Sandwich at Vesica Tulum is an absolute must-try! This culinary masterpiece is a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The combination of tender chicken, savory turkey ham, crispy bacon, and the rich manchego cheese was a taste sensation like no other. The addition of heirloom tomatoes and caramelized red onions provided a delightful sweetness, perfectly balanced by the crunch of iceberg lettuce and pickles.

What truly set this sandwich apart was the homemade mayonnaise, which added a creamy and tangy element that brought all the ingredients together. And to top it all off, the house white bread was fresh and soft, the ideal vessel for this flavor-packed creation.

As a visitor from the United States, I can confidently say that the Vesica Sandwich at Vesica Tulum is a culinary delight that's worth every bite. Pair it with the potato and sweet potato chips, and you have a meal to remember. Don't miss the chance to savor this delicious masterpiece...

If you’re looking for a chill pool party vibe with a touch of nature, Vesica Tulum is the spot! The staff—from the front receptionist to the attendants and servers—are incredibly friendly and attentive. We arrived around 2 pm on a Saturday without reservations and had no trouble checking in. The check-in process was a breeze. It’s 300 MXN per person to enter. Although the receptionist informed us that only the dining area was available because the day beds were occupied, we were surprised to be offered a day bed on the top area for a 500 MXN minimum spend. For a daybed closer to the CENOTE a total of 1000 MXN (around $54 USD) was needed. We had an amazing spot thanks to our main server, Jonathan. He was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. He even greeted us with a welcome cleansing drink! After 3 pm, Jonathan actually moved us to a prime location day bed near the cenote, which really elevated our experience. Now for the food—delicious! We ordered the tempura shrimp tacos (which were so good we had to order another one), golden corn, and fries. The tacos come with three servings, each with two pieces of tempura shrimp. We also enjoyed mango mojitos and piña coladas—both refreshing and perfectly mixed. We did want to try the fish taco but they were not available. The cenote is the perfect spot to cool off. There are four different ways to enter, but be cautious as the rocks are slippery due to algae. One side has rocks where you can stand, though it tends to fill up with people quickly. There’s also a rope across the cenote where you can sit, plus a DJ playing music to keep the vibe alive. Keep in mind, this isn’t a Vegas-style pool party; it’s more of a laid-back, chill vibe, which is exactly what we loved about Vesica. There are plenty of shaded areas around the cenote, clean restrooms, and overall a well-maintained facility. We truly enjoyed our experience—great food, amazing staff, and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re after a more relaxed poolside...

Vesica is a stunning place to spend a half or full day—relaxing on the beds and taking occasional dips in the cenote was a highlight. However, the experience was let down by inattentive service and underwhelming food.

We arrived right at opening and were the first guests there, which was great for choosing our spot. But despite that, we waited over 45 minutes before anyone came to take our order. I had to go find staff near the kitchen three separate times while they stood around chatting, largely ignoring us and the few other early guests. If they aren’t ready to serve guests at 9AM, they probably shouldn’t open at that time.

I ordered a dish specifically for the Valladolid sausage, hoping to try something local—it arrived without it. The French toast was soggy and looked nothing like the Instagram photos. Honestly, had we known breakfast would be that disappointing, we would have skipped it entirely and come later just for drinks and snacks.

That said, the coffee was excellent, and the chips and guac we had later were also good. Service improved a bit as the place got busier, but it felt reactive rather than attentive.

A few other things worth noting: every time we went to the bathroom, we were approached by some rando asking if we wanted to buy weed—not exactly the vibe we were looking for. The reception also felt cold and unwelcoming.

I wouldn’t recommend paying the 1,000-peso minimum for the lower-level beds—you get essentially the same experience for 500 pesos less on the top level.

Overall, I can say we largely enjoyed our time, because we made it enjoyable, but I definitely expected more given their photos and the reviews for the food. It was a big letdown, we should have eaten somewhere else beforehand. Also, bacon sucks, don't order...

TULUM MINI GUIDE! A long weekend in the boho capital of Mexico is such a vibe. Below is a guide to my favorite sights, eats & places to stay. What are your favorites in Tulum? BEST SIGHTS AZULIK UH MAY A stunning art installation in the middle of the jungle. Step into a dome that rises up out of the jungle, filled with fluid sculptures, tree branches, plants and ceramics boasting earthy tones of tan, green, brown & white. CENOTE CORAZON Heart-shaped cenote in the middle of the jungle. CENOTE NICTE HA The large natural pool sits surrounded by rocks in the middle of the jungle. The water is incredibly clear, filled with lily pads, fish & underwater gardens. CENOTE VESICA A gorgeous fresh water cenote that has been converted into a day club, surrounded by boho loungers, branch canopies, a sun deck & open air restaurant in the middle of the jungle. COBA RUINS The Mayan complex of pyramids and temples is about an hour from Tulum. These ruins are unique because you can bicycle through the ancient city to the different complexes. THE HAND A massive wooden hand rises six feet out of the jungle for stunning views of the surrounding treetops. TULUM BEACH ROAD This 6 mile dirt path is the beating heart of Tulum, home to the best boutique hotels, restaurants, bars & beach clubs. It truly is a vibe. Explore both by bicycle and on foot. VAGALUME TULUM The boho beach club scene is plentiful in Tulum, and one of the best is Vagalume. An Instaworthy bridge held up by a pair of hands leads to a stretch of beach filled with wooden loungers, luxe grey cushions and boho white umbrellas. VEN A LA LUZ The iconic wooden sculpture created by Daniel Popper towers 33-feet high in the Tulum Sculpture Park. It used to sit on Tulum Beach Road at the entrance to Ahau, but now it’s set a few feet back from the road and requires an “entry fee.” BEST EATS Arca, Casa Banana, Delcielo, Gitano Meze, Hartwood, Kitchen Table, La Zebra, Matcha Mama, Posada Margherita, Raw Love, Taqueria Honorio & Ziggy’s BEST STAYS Ahau, La Valise, La Zebra, Nest Tulum, Radhoo & Zorba Tulum #tulum #tulummexico #ferngully #mexicotravel #cenotes
