El Jaguar — Restaurant in San Martín de las Pirámides

Do Not Eat here! You’ll get sick. I was there part of a tour from Mexico City. The tour company took us there and suggested to get the Buffet for 250 pesos. We went for the buffet as suggested but when walked the buffet, most trays were empty and did not get to eat every thing I wanted to take. I guess it was a good thing I did not eat all because at the end, my wife and I got very bad food poisoning. We had to stay in bed for two days and was lucky to find medical guidance at a local pharmacy for the pain and poisoning. This issue made us loose many days of planning through our trip as we plan to try many things to eat but after the food poisoning we did not felt like eating much and were also scared to eat anything else, anywhere and even where discussed to eat similar items that we had at this restaurant. In short, if you don’t want to loose days of your vacation time, avoid eating here. I wish I knew this. PS, don’t fall for the expensive prices in the souvenirs shop by the restaurant, you can find cheaper prices at local stores in many places in Mexico. Do your...

We came here because we took a tour and part of it was to visit the pyramids here in the area. Now we knew food wasn't included as part of the paid tour but we were dropped off here and it was implied that we needed to stay here as part of the group. Prices for food and drink seemed to be a bit on the higher end for being a buffet place in this location. Food quality was OK but most of the food lacked flavoring. Most of the food options were bland and simple dishes. This place lacks the true authentic Mexican cuisine. The closest they got to authentic was the quesadillas that they grilled on the comal. The staff was very busy because there were a lot of other guests eating out here. There is live music by both a mariachi band and a cultural Aztec dance which they played one or two songs and then collected tips from the whole restaurant. cuando te cobran la cuenta en el restaurante, no te dicen pero, ya te incluye el 10%+ tu total y después, el guida de tours o la misma gente del restaurante te " piden" dejarles más propina

La comida de la cara es cara 400-500$ y con la calidad que mostró el buffet , dudo mucho que valga la pena

El buffet es de 280$ Tiene solo 1 sopa, 2 tipos de carne y lo demás, son flautas, huaraches, y cosas de birotes. Habia verdudas pero, se veian medio viejas y la barra de postres dejo muchk que desear. Solo gelatina y pasteles como tipo cosco

Triste, porque muchos tours te llevan ahi a comer y la comida estaba horrible y cara

Tambien, tiene una parte de tienda de artesanias.No recomendó, desde que inicias el tour te muestran y te dan una obsidiana para ver el sol directamente, es super peligroso ya que te puedes dañar así la vista. No hay ningún estudio que diga que eso es seguro de hacer. Asimismo, en mi grupo me toco un señor viejito que como que andaba de malas y decía muchas cosas,,, incómodas..? metia su religión de la santa muerte y decía que las víboras y los zopilotes curan el cáncer.Entiendo respetar las creencias de la gente, pero si voy a un tour , lo menos que me interesa es escuchar ese tipo de cosas y más sobre la obsidiana , como se maneja , etc. información para un tour.

Asimismo, las mismas personas que trabajan te dicen que están aprobados por el comité de turismo y el gobierno sobre la calidad de sus piezas. Yo sinceramente tengo mis dudas, había una muchacha que empezó a decir que venden opalitas de fuego de 14 colores diferentes y que son de alta calidad. Eso es mentira , la opalita que vendían era sintética y tiene resina y es muy barata de conseguir.Asimismo, la opalita de fuego tiene su nombre así por su color ámbar y sus figuras que dan la ilusión a fuego/humo cuando sumerges la piedra en agua. Vi sus cuarzos y había varios transparentes que al final resultaban ser vidrio ( distorsionada la imagen como lupa y cualquier tipo de gema nunca hace esto) Sus collares de amatista de amatista son de un color tenue morado = mala calidad Lo único rescatable es la obsidiana, si era de muy buena calidad y su obsidiana dorada resplandecía muchísimo.

En general, los tours deberían de checar mejor la calidad de los lugares que te llevan y si tu vas solo por tu cuenta, de verdad evita a toda costa este lugar.

Para terminar, mi padre quien nos acompaño se intoxico aqui. La verdad pesimo que los tours te lleven de ahí de afueras. horrible y...
