Went with a party of 6 last evening. Typical "Taco Tuesday" night here in San Carlos. The new place in town is Chihuahua's, with a large menu with many types of dishes, but primarily Mexican foods from across Mexican and seafoods. You can also get pastas, salads and amazing steaks.
We ordered appetizers of bacon wrapped yellow chiles stuffed with cheese and shrimp. The came with a worchesteshire dipping sauce and were delicious. We also got two shrimp cocktails and there had to be a half a pound of shrimp in each one. They were a meal in themselves.
The table order was 3 Chihuahua's Combination plates with a Gordita, Tostada, Chile Relleno and enchilada. The plates are just beautiful and sooo good. I had chicken enchilada, and beef tostada. The service was good. Everyone had their meal in just about 15 minutes. We munched on complimentary chips and salsa. My honey got the filet mignon with a baked potato and salad. The filet was served grill seared and wrapped in bacon, medium rare on a sizzling griddle plate. The last two at the table got the grilled white fish, served with steamed vegetables and salads.
For dessert we split two flans, made in house. So creamy and wonderful.
The restaurant is beautiful inside, the music was Mexican salsa, I believe.
Everyone had a wonderful time and plan on going back soon. Next time I am trying the shrimp fettuccine. My wife wants to try the...

UPDATE: Went for breakfast there a couple of days ago and had lunch earlier in the week. They do not offer Chihuahua style cuisine despite their name. I was a bit disappointed as i was going to order gorditas but was told they serve traditional Sonora gorditas which are indian tacos and not corn stuffed gorditas like in chihuhua . I ordered bistek with veggies which was pretty decent. Sunday morning we went for breakfast and i ordered Menudo. My wife had caguamanta (a local seafood stew made with stingray and shrimp). The caguamanta was decent. The menudo was horrible. I tasted two spoonfuls and couldn’t take anymore. I tried adding more onions and salsa after the first bite but the stew tasted like fish!! I asked waiter if it had seafood he insisted it did not and I had him remove dish. To their defense they did offer me pozole but the menudo tasted so bad i had lost my appetite. I went to Dairy Queen afterwards to buy a blizzard and rid my tastebuds of the horrible fish menudo aftertaste. This is a hit and miss place. We will not be returning again. Worst part we were charged for the menudo. I recommend Arbolitos de Cajeme down the street . Food is always...
Read moreOne of my favorite places to eat in San Carlos! Let's see... where to start. The people who serve the food: The kindest, happiest service! :) The food: Delicious! Camarones Oxaca, (Shrimp in agarlic cheese sauce) Fillete Rellenos (stuffed fish), Omelete San Carlos (Shrimp omelete) so many good things! Drinks: Coffee with a hint of cinnamon, fresh OJ and the margaritas are so yummy! Prices: Very reasonable and the atmosphere is cozy. I am writing this because I am surprised this place isn't packed with customers (maybe we go at off hours). I have only lived in San Carlos for 2 years. I think this place has been here long enough it's not new and trendy. Trust me, you are missing out if you don't try...
