Restaurant Dipao Avandaro — Restaurant in State of Mexico

We decided to travel to this beautiful town in Mexico for new years eve and welcome 2024, my sister picked that restaurant, well, it was the worst experience ever, very expensive but we understood as it was new years celebration, I guess we expected a great place service and amazing food as promised, well, on the contrary, the place was not prepared to serve so many people, we could see how they were short on staff, the service was the worst, they took forever to bring a drink, the food was brought at different times for all the table, the coffee mug had some kind of stains, even the alcohol was not what it was offered on the menu, and the food was not good, they served a potato soup, tasted like a can one, the beef was undercooked, the salmon not good, cheap wine, cheap sparkling wine to cheer for the new year, we google the bottle because it tasted so bad we found out the price was $125 pesos, per bottle, that is around $7 dollars, it is not the price, it is the quality, the lack of control and management, and to end the story, our table had 8 people, 2 of us got food poisoning, nice way to spend our new years eve and all that money, crazy expensive and a lack of consideration for the customer, not coming...

Enjoyed the place to an extent, i wasnt feeling like eating italian since i had already done so twice that week. I asked for the paprika steak. Medium well, honestly i ve cooked better steaks at home. It was raw at the center and had almost no seasoning. Was extremely bland. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dishes very much. Too bad i asked for something outside the house' specialty which is italian food. Next time i wont do that. There were kids running behind our chairs every 2 minutes which was also annoying, and the heaters werent enough, half out table was feeling cold while there....

Great food, attentive staff, socially distanced, and pleasant decor.

The artichoke was good but the cheese a bit dry. The pomelo salad was good, as expected. The salmon alla siciliana was rich. The puttanesca was a little saltier than I would have liked, but it was expected.

Lemon pie with mascarpone and my coffee were delicious, as was the Italian house wine which we had throughout the dinner.

I would have liked to give it 4.5 stars. 5 stars would be for a mind blowing experience but this...
