The food is mediocre at best. Some dishes were just plain bad: overcooked shrimp for one thing, terrible and insipid flan for another: i.e. cheaper ingredients that produced a "bread" rather than a creamy flan. Yet they have prices that are indicative of a better restaurant. Location on the lake is what seems to make this place an attraction, certainly not the food or the wait staff. The second issue we had was with the waiter. When I asked him to explain the stack of sheets he presented as the bill, he took them from me and went to my dining partner to explain the bill, even though I asked for the explanation and it was I who was paying the bill; i.e. a total lack of respect for the paying customer. Breakfast at Los Pericos saved our visit to Valle de Bravo. We were ready to abandon our Airbnb two days early because of noise and boredom. Walking out to the waterfront, the traffic noise dropped with every step, and by the time we were seated, we couldn’t hear the ever present dump trucks. The setting would have been respite enough, but the menu was intriguing. We ordered Huevos Rockefeller, which was eggs scrambled with spinach and bacon, and Enchiladas Tres Pericos, three enchiladas with different filling and sauces. We also tried two of the specialty juices, Cancun and Popeye, and two cappuccinos. Everything was delicious. If not for wanting to try several other dishes, we would order these again. If you don't like rocking on a boat, this is not the place for you. I for one love being on a boat. But the food here was mediocre at best. Eating outside has its risks of cooling down your food but it wasn't hot or flavorful to begin with. My kids had pescado empanizado and the fish wasn't completely cooked. Our seafood pasta dish was seafood covered in a watery tomato sauce. The experience was good, but I wouldn't return for the food. Service was great and attentive. Bathrooms clean....
