Best bistec tacos in Matamoros! Amazing flavor and very filling! Their salsas are also very good! That green salsa they have goes amazing in your bistec tacos and cebolla asada. Heck, even put it in your frijoles charros (they're so good and fresh!) to give an amazing flavorful kick! Even better, I take some extra green salsa to go and love it with my eggs in the morning (it's just that good to me)! Their other tacos are also good and even their flour tortilla tacos. Been eating these tacos for over 15 years and they're still the best! I super highly recommend this place to try for yourself! On another note, THEY ARE the only original! Since Brownsville copied them as they got an Ultimo Taco but it's nothing like these from Matamoros! Not even close! I wish the ones from Brownsville could seriously change their name, since they did it to make so much money (they even won "awards"). But the ones here in Matamoros got nothing to do with them and they actually tell you that. Which is why they now added "we are the originals" on their name. Quiet mad that they stole their name and to fight it would be a pain for them and well they can't do much...

El Ultimo Taco has been around for Decades! This place has been serving street tacos longer than most of their competitors and arguably some of the best in all of Matamoros!!! They serve just about all cuts of your traditional street taco meats! Our personal favorites are tocos de trompo, right out of the fire!!! Second only to tacos mixtos de tripa & bistec! We cant help but to stop here just about every time...

Went down to Brownsville to visit the fam bam. My nephew invited us for a late dinner and let me tell you what. The spot serves small old school tacos but with a punch. All food from the berria to the beans charros to the many various tacos. Everything was prepared with care and attention to detail. One can tell the owner/chef takes pride on their work. Highly recommend...
