LOLA Rooftop — Restaurant in Tepatitlán de Morelos

The view was great from this restaurant which is why we selected to eat here. Upon trying to inquire about reservations we went through 3 different people before we were taken to a person in small room with a computer at the corner of the restaurant to make a reservation. Seemed a bit much to be given the runaround when the restaurant was not at all busy. When we arrived for reservations everyone seemed very serious, no one smiling, which made it feel like the waiters didn’t even want to be there. The waiters waited for us to get their attention before taking our orders. We ordered drinks and I got the Mezcal drink with Hamaica. It tasted great, but the cup was mostly filled with ice so I felt like I finished it quickly. We asked what the top dishes were and I went with the filet mignon. The filet came out and the presentation was great but it did not taste at all like steak. Tasted more like chicken or pork and the color of the meat was not at all like steak. The asparagus was all shriveled and overcooked. The mashed potatoes were okay. My boyfriend got a burger. We both took a couple of bites of our food and decided to leave and go eat somewhere else. We asked for the check and someone who looked like a manager asked if everything was okay and we didn’t want to make a big deal so we said yes and left. Maybe other items on the menu are tastier but we did not like the steak or burger at all. And the fact that the service wasn’t that great contributed to us wanting to leave. We had a better experience at Don K. The service at Don K and Lola is like night and day. I recently dined at LOLA Rooftop and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The service was lacking; it felt as though the staff were either untrained or uninterested in providing good customer service.

The food was equally underwhelming. Despite its presentation, the taste was bland and uninspired, making it clear that quality and flavor were not priorities in the kitchen.

The drinks were another letdown. They tasted as if they had been mixed by someone who had no experience with making cocktails, resulting in an unappealing experience.

Considering the high prices, the overall quality and service did not justify the cost. Sadly, I cannot recommend this restaurant unless you have no other options. There are definitely better places to spend your...

Visiting with intentions of trying appetizers. Bruschetta ok. Wasn't expecting white sauce. Prefer without it. The shrimp plate was good. I was told the chapulines tacos were good. The last appetizer we ordered was the fries. I was expecting more than just fries stacked like jenga pieces. They were not season but with only side sauce to dip in. If you have chapulin tacos on your menu, I would expect something more like shoestring parmesean truffle fries. As far as staff, our waiter was not pleasant nor welcoming.
